Removing accurate locational information[edit]

This is a list of some sensitive archaeological sites in one town in Ontario, Canada. Some of the sites have been known about for many years by local people. Some of the sites have been totally excavated by archaeologists, like the Mantle site, and were repeatedly in the local news. Some have not been totally excavated and some of those have been looted by treasure hunters.

To help protect them from further disturbance, the latitude and longitude should be either removed from this article, or made more vague. At minimum, I suggest using only the degrees and minutes, which gives an inaccuracy of about 1500 meters. At best, the list should contain only the sites that already have separate pages in Wikipedia and those that are totally destroyed.

As another reason to "fuzzify" their locations, these are all Aboriginal habitation sites, and the less destruction by anyone, the better. Admittedly, a sufficiently curious person could go to the original sources cited in the references for more information, but how many Wikipedia readers do that? Finally, this is the only area in Canada (possibly the world) in Wikipedia with this kind of specific locational information for so many archaeological sites.Andy (talk) 03:27, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
