GENERAL NOTE:[edit]

Please keep this voice as light and slim as possible! Just add the barest minimum of details relevant to the actual sinking of the ship, all other informations about its operational life etc will be better found in their specific voice.

Please also keep as strictly as possible to a common format, as follows :

Ship Name linked to the relevant Wikipedia voice + (Flag + Nav Name) : xx-aircrafts (type : fleet/light/escort) carrier ; sunk by XXX + location + date + name of the battle or name/type of operation.

Thanks!!!!

Corrections by 98.218.50.28[edit]

"17:43, 4 July 2011 98.218.50.28 (talk) (16,805 bytes) (The plural of aircraft is aircraft. Japanese is a proper noun and should be capitalized)"

Thanks for the correction to "aircrafts", I really didn't know it had an irregular plural form! Thanks a lot.

About the captalized "Japanese", I'm not quite sure. "Japan" ia a noun. "Japanese" in a phrase like "a Japanese did say hello to me" is a noun. "Japanese" in a phrase like "a japanese carrier" or "a japanese aircraft" etc is an adjective, and us such it should not be capitalized. At least, AFAIK ;-) Before I change back the capitalization, could you please be so kind to check if I am correct? I would really appreciate your assistance.

query answered by another user. It's a "Proper Adjective and as such it should capitalized. Arturolorioli (talk) 11:51, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lavender Coloring and Asterisks[edit]

It is unclear to me why some ships' names are shaded in lavender and some have asterisks. Unless I am missing something, this is never explained in the article. Can someone who knows please either explain here or edit the article to reflect? --Cjs56 (talk) 17:17, 17 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Removed them as it really is not explained at all. ansh666 02:23, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Weapon vs. scrap metal[edit]

Should there be a clear sign if the ship was lost in (or as a result of) combat or just as a target? Should the Bilter/Dixmunde and St. Lo have the same disposition? Just a thought from a passerby. Thank you. Sammy D III (talk) 15:34, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
