Surely the name of this page is off? "Broadcast by BBC" isn't usage you'd normally hear — it'd always be "the BBC", especially considering "BBC" isn't a channel in and of itself, but rather operates a range of channels, BBC One, BBC Two etc and so forth. Angmering 06:46, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Thomas the Tank Engine

Thomas shouldn't be in the list - it's an ITV show, only shown on the BBC in Canada. And its produced by a third party. Digifiend 12:38, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

BBC-produced, or just BBC-broadcast?

What's this list supposed to be? The intro says 'An incomplete list of popular BBC produced shows and shows originally produced for BBC TV' but the title refers only to broadcast. Can we settle on one or the other? --Oolong 18:24, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Article Title and Duplication

Two comments: firstly, the title of the article does not match the remit of the article. For example, the title, "...Broadcast by the BBC", would allow for shows such as Heroes, Family Guy, Neighbours etc. However, the introduction states that the article is for those produced by the BBC; none of those I just stated are. If there are no objections, I'll change the intro to reflect that all BBC broadcast programmes are permitted, not just those produced for the BBC, as that is what the title implies. Secondly, there are a large number of children's programmes on this page, yet there is a whole article dedicated to children's shows on the BBC - that's duplication. I suggest that they're all removed from here, and a statement placed at the top of this article pointing to the Children's article. _TheIslander 21:41, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

BBC strongly implies that Horizon has been canceled

I am sad to read that the BBC strongly implies that Horizons has been canceled. In large letters at the top of the Horzions webpage, its website states: "Just to let you know, we're no longer updating this page" When you click "More Information here" you get this info:

We aim to make sure that all of the pages we publish on bbc.co.uk are as accurate, reliable and as useful as possible. Where a particular radio, tv series or other BBC event has ended we generally leave the related web page online, just in case visitors may find it helpful or interesting in future. However, in order to avoid confusion we add a banner notice to the page to make it clear that we're no longer keeping these pages up to date....

On the other hand, their website does provide a link to a list upcoming episodes. Are these repeats of older shows, or are they the last new Horizons episodes that will be made?

Do Not Adjust Your Set - Not a BBC Production

Though it involved some members of the Monty Python team, this was not a BBC production. The British Film Institute reports that it was produced by Rediffusion for ITV between 26th December, 1967 and 14th May, 1969 in twenty-seven 25 min episodes over two series, along with two specials. Let's subdivide this article

Given that there must be a huge number of programmes broadcast by the BBC (especially as this includes radio as well as television), would it not be sensible to sub-divide this so that we have separate lists for programme type, such as comedies or documentaries?Vorbee (talk) 16:14, 4 June 2016 (UTC)

"Current" programming

Why are series/miniseries that have ended/concluded included under the current programming section? – DarkGlow (talk) 22:45, 4 March 2020 (UTC)

I agree, this is a bit odd. In the description for the "Current Programming" section, it states that series are listed there if they ended broadcast within the last year. However, they have clearly ended and I think it's better if all shows that have ended broadcast are moved to the former programming sections. Apd9696 (talk) 10:31, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

Well lad, some of BBC series, including the co-production, such as Small Axe (with Amazon Prime Video, where John Boyega won the Golden Globes & most recently Critics Choice), Black Narcissus (with Disney's FX, also streaming on Disney+ STAR in most of the territories), and also Industry (with HBO & confirmed will be returned for series 2 ICYMI), has already aired on BBC networks. Tbh I totally forgot about this article and I haven't visited it since the last time I edited this page which was more than 6 months ago. You're more than welcome to move them to current programming by all means, edits like that are uncontroversial and you can do them as you please, no need to worry about checking w/ the talk page.
