Article upgrade / proposal for merging[edit]

I have undertaken a comprehensive audit of current and historical references for the information in the list and placed it in a table. I did this because:

reference 1 is unverifiable

reference 2 is an old commercial trip guide, not close to an official source

reference 3 is 5 years older than currently available (not a major problem) but information in the article is inconsistent with it

distances are given from Coonamia, which is 92 km beyond the Trans-Australian Railway – they should be from Port Augusta, where the railway starts

some superseded names are provided but they are not all consistent with official sources and not consistent with early records; contemporary records are the preferable sources

text under the heading "Access" is unreferenced and may not be out of date.

Because of the unavailability of access to the first two references, I have updated to new ones, corrected the distances, deleted mention of alternative placenames (they are shown on the Commonwealth Railways map that I have added) and incorporated duplicative details previously in a table in the Trans-Australian Railway article showing naming after seven prime ministers.

Given that only one of the 51 stations (Kalgoorlie) is now staffed and elsewhere almost all infrastructure has been removed, I don't believe a separate article listing the localities is justified. I therefore propose this article for merging.
