Question on quotation

• Shelley wrote that the poem "was composed under the immediate impression of the deep and powerful feelings excited by the objects which it attempts to describe; and, as an undisciplined overflowing of the soul, rests its claim to approbation on an attempt to imitate the untamable wilderness and inaccessible solemnity from which those feeling sprang". - This is from the "Preface" written by PBS in Six Weeks' Tour (page vi). Definitely. I was going to ask Jayvdb about tracking down an edition for Wikisource. I had access to the 1930 edition, but you can relist the page number to the original. Images

Question - I feel that three images could be used: PBS, Mont Blanc, and a picture of an original first page/title page showing the work included/content page doing this. However, which order? I would think that Percy could go at the top, Mont Blanc in the background, and the poem page in the poem section. Since this was not printed on its own, the poem page should not go at the top, unless its a really nice copy, and then possibly? I would like some feed back and/or other views. Some options for the text:

• Image:MontBlancTitle.jpg - Interior title page separating "Mont Blanc" from the rest of the 1817 Tour
• Image:MontBlancFirstPage.jpg - First page of the poem in the 1817 Tour

Question of fact (ascent of Mt Blanc)

I have deleted the sentence claiming that Shelley accompanied de Saussure on his ascent of Mont Blanc as the latter died in 1799 when Shelley was 7 years old.

Mary Shelley describes (19th century tourist) visits to the Bossons Glacier and Mer de Glace at Montanvers, but makes no mention of Shelley climbing Mont Blanc, in 'History of a six weeks tour'.

MS's collection of PBS's poetry

Unfortunately MS does not have much to say about MB in her edition of PBS's works (see here). Should we mention that the poem was included in this first edition of PBS's poetry, though? Awadewit (talk) 20:24, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

I would think so. Perhaps also a small hint towards what Percy's father may have done to slow down her edition also (a few words, half a line maybe).
