Enjoy. Someone port the photos over from Chinese Wikicommons, please. Or tell me how to do so. White whirlwind (talk) 23:43, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is only one Wikimedia Commons, so I assume you mean the Chinese Wikipedia? This page may help you move images on zh-pedia to Commons, though it is, of course, written for the English Wikipedia. A quick look on those images' pages on the Chinese Wikipedia suggests that they are suitably licensed, but I'd rather not perform the move as I don't read/speak Chinese. Let me know if you need any technical assistance. Robert Skyhawk (T C B) 23:54, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I tried and wasn't successful. The scripts involved were a little over my poor head. I did flag the original images with the Copy to Wikimedia Commons template, so hopefully the uploader will do so. White whirlwind (talk) 06:41, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Good job on the translation! Alas I am behind the GFC and unable to sort out the images :(. BTW the red "Daoist Temple" link needs amendment, I believe that the Wiki common usage is Taoist (i.e. Wade Giles transliteration) and "Taoist Temple" currently redirects to a place in Beverly Hills which is culturally interesting to say the least. There is no Chinese entry for "Taoist Temple" so maybe just link "Taoist"? Philg88 (talk) 07:10, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'll sort something out on the link. Tao with a "T" is certainly the more common spelling but the pinyin version is certainly the standard in modern academia. White whirlwind (talk) 10:57, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You're right - even with the English word Taoism the pinyin is still dao Philg88 (talk) 22:54, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, sir! I looked over the Wikipedia:Manual of Style (use of Chinese language) and it seems pretty correct, if sort of remedial. Also, some "Wiki common usages", as you say, are outdated or incorrect, and I don't have a problem with spearheading the switch. I mean, you can't even publish a scholarly work with the word "Taoism" in it anymore. As for the temple link, it now takes users to the Temple (Chinese) page.
