Seinfeld reference?

[edit]

Does anyone think that Cartman's revenge business might be a reference to an episode of Seinfeld where they discover Newman is doing something similar? I'm not a big Seinfeld aficionado, so I don't remember the episode well enough to make paralells, I only have a vague recollection of a similar tone. - Ugliness Man 11:41, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia

[edit]

I am going to remove the trivia regarding the rules of time travel and related physics because this is only a theory and has never been proven, so 'impossible' should not be used. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.6.241.82 (talkcontribs) 10:46, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Where's the bit where we mention how the initial promo showed a 'future Stan' that actually looked and sounded like him, which they apparently changed before the episode finished? That's kinda important, since it provides insight into the earlier version of the episode, as well as how they seem to have realized how illogical it is for the fakes to be so convincing, though Butters' still is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.70.113 (talk) 02:12, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Episode Pic

[edit]

Maybe we should replace the pic with one with Stan and his "future self" next to each other in the bathroom. It suits the episode better.--Orthologist 23:26, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In my boldness I've used a screenshot of the scene where Stan's "future self" explains his story at the dinner table with Stan and his family. Ma.rkus.nl 00:55, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, this pic suits it better now :) ≈ The Haunted Angel 02:10, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Choice of Wording

[edit]

Matt and Trey's inspiration for the episode came from public service announcements that made the claim to the effect of "If you smoke pot, you fund terrorists." Enraged by such propaganda, they decided to spoof it.

This seems like speculation, unless someone can cite a source or two, I want to change it to less charged wording. --Col.clawhammer 14:55, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Supposed contradiction

[edit]

I do not think Jimmy's story about his girlfriend having sex with him while on drugs is true. He explicitly says "What terrific audience", just as he does after all his jokes (!), so I think the comment can be removed from both episodes, since it isn't contradictory. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.95.102.91 (talk) 12:18, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is another contradiction, however, when 'Future Stan' is divulging factual information on the family. To allow himself into the house, He says Stan's mothers maiden name was Kimble whereas it should be Kern since she is the brother of Jimbo Kern. LordNu (talk) 08:41, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uncited material

[edit]

Cite please;

  • At one point, Stan briefly watches The Osbournes before his mother changes the channel on him, telling him that the show will make him "retarded". To poke fun at the frequent cursing in The Osbournes, random pieces of dialogue were censored, even if the family wasn't actually swearing in those particular occasions.
  • Jimmy mentions that he and his girlfriend did ecstasy at a previous point - a reference to the false claim made that MDMA (ecstasy) has effects such as depleting cerebrospinal fluid, causing genetic damage, and damaging the spinal cord, leading to partial or complete paralysis.
  • Butters mentions that his future self loves watching a stupid show called Becker, a show that has since gone off the air.
