Fair use rationale for Image:Nerilkastory.jpg[edit]

Image:Nerilkastory.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

OK--if the novel is so noteworthy, expand the article, please. It doesn't seem as if anyone has done any work on it at all, which suggests that there isn't much to say about it. Whatever, dude -- it's part of the Pern series, which is among the best-selling sci-fi series of all time (notice the big box o' links along the bottom?), so there's no reason why there shouldn't be an article on it. Not sure what kind of expansion you want -- I could add a basic plot summary, but that if that involved adding more than a few sentences, then it would necessarily involve "spoilers". If you have no particular understanding of the type of literature that this book represents, then you may not be the best person to try to supervise the article's improvement... Settle down. I don't want to supervise anything. And I've read plenty, even in this genre, thank you very much. Let's try to be productive here, shall we? A small expansion of the kind you suggest would be nice, actually, and spoilers, well, this is an encyclopedia, not a publisher's brochure. In general, my point is that books are notable also if they are deemed notable by critics. Sales numbers are just that--though the addition of sales numbers would also improve the article, cause right now the article only states that the book exists, and existence by itself is not notable in an encyclopedia. That's nice -- you could start by refraining from loosely tossing around useless and inaccurate terminology like "dime novel", which does nothing to clarify any issues, or create an atmosphere conducive to collaborative cooperation. AnonMoos (talk) 21:35, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I will--you have to admit, it worked! (The article has been tagged since 2007...) Now, if you can, tell me how many copies sold, and if you have any professional reviews of the work.
