New article[edit]

I have created an article on former Wallaby and World War II hero Nicky Barr. Capitalistroadster 11:23, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image position[edit]

Grant, I'm aware of the convention of photo subjects looking 'in' to the article rather than 'out' of it, however I think it's pretty marginal in this instance and shouldn't override another convention, namely putting the main image in the infobox. The overall layout of the article was also preferable with the image in the infobox, IMO. I note that Andrew Cunningham employs a pic of its subject in the infobox where he looks 'out' - and that's a featured article. As far as Barr goes there's also UK1197 at AWM which would satisfy your preferences in this regard, though personally I think the current pic is more engaging, it should just be back in the infobox. OK. But there is no obligation to have a pic in the infobox ,as far as I know(?) Grant | Talk 10:10, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

UK Rugby side[edit]

The article says Barr was selected to play against the United Kingdom. There is no United Kingdom Rugby Union side. He was selected to play for Australia on their tour of the United Kingdom which meant he could have played against the England, Scotland et cetera - but not the UK, it has no team. The only British and Irish rugby team is the British and Irish Lions, and they only play as a touring side in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. At least, this is my information. I have checked and can find nothing to contradict the view expressed here. Ed Dadoo (talk) 00:23, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds fair -- the main body says "in" as opposed to "against" the UK, and I've altered the lead accordingly. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 00:33, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
