Proposed merge
[edit]- Support- The content of these two articles is very similar, and in fact the titles are often interchangeable. "CNA" is a certification. I suggest that the main article be Patient care technician with a section on certification where the CNA credential can be discussed. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 16:30, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Object/More Information Needed- CNAs and PCTs, indeed, operate on a very similar level. However, there are specific licensing qualifications for PCTs; they generally operate at the level of an advanced CNA (ACNA) or an LPN, minus the medications. If there were to be a single article on nursing assistants or health care technicians, with each job represented, then yes- I would agree with you. But to simply merge the two- no. - Comment - Upon further reflection and investigation, I will create an article called "Unlicensed assistive personnel". This is the most common generic name in professional literature. I will create sections on certifications and job requirements. From there, I will redirect CNA and PCT to this new page. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 06:55, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
