History[edit]

Photography Studies College spans an important period in the revival of fine art photography in Australia and its marketability as art, and the apex and gradual 'reconstruction' of photojournalism in Australia during its shift from print media. Additions to PSC's history in the article, set alongside these developments, of its internal events, a list of distinguished graduates since 1973, and a full record of the numerous lecturers who taught there who had formative roles in the development of Australian photography, would be helpful additions to this currently stub-class article. Removing non-notable employees[edit]

I believe that the "Lecturers" section's lists of "Academic staff" and "Guest lecturers and Mentors" should be trimmed to only include those with Wikipedia articles—that is how we judge who is notable, either that or there is an independent reliable source talking about the person working at the PSC. WP:NOTDIRECTORY states "Wikipedia is not a directory of everything in the universe that exists or has existed ... Simple listings without context information. Examples include, but are not limited to: ... employees (except CEOs, supervisory directors and similar top functionaries)". -Lopifalko (talk) 08:08, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, a good way to overcome the uneasy sense that this article is an advertisement for an existing private photography college. For the time being, if articles on its significant individual photographer/artist/teachers are pending, the preamble to the "Lecturers" section might stay. It would be useful if editors DBS1974 and Dbotkers would reveal themselves on a user page...looking at their edits it would appear they are employees of Photography Studies College. Again, since the college has existed so long, I am sure others, like me, are more interested in its history (shamefully little of which seems to have been recorded) and influence on the course of Australian photography than its current corporate image, and though I will declare the fact that I did lecture there 1980-84, I no feel neither loyalty nor animosity toward the institution (it's too long ago). This is an article that could do with significant improvement and a change in emphasis if it is to be an appropriate entry on Wikipedia. Jamesmcardle^(talk) 08:36, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Jamesmcardle: I removed the "Academic staff" without articles (all of them) as it had the appearance of trying to persuade people of their notability by describing some of their achievements, without the rigour of independent reliable sources or the existence of an article.
