Videotaped?[edit]

According to the article "gas chamber", Harris' execution was videotaped, but there's no reference to this here. 68.146.41.232 15:48, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cheryl Moore[edit]

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome[edit]

Interesting that the Golden text was cited, yet there is no mention of fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), as this was the only reason this case appeared in the book. According to research by Golden, both Kenneth Jones and Ann Streissguth (experts in the field) testified that Harris likely suffered from FAS. In addition, Golden notes that Harris suffered actual brain damage as the result of abuse from his father and had been found to have chronic schizophrenia. The wording of this article makes it seem as if Harris was merely emotionally scarred from childhood abuse and should contain more detail about his history. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Barneyjr (talk • contribs)

Mentally Retarded[edit]

I recall at the time that there were articles that contended that due to the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome mentioned above, Robert Alton Harris was mildly mentally retarded. I'm not sure why this was excluded from the article. Valleyboy17 (talk) 17:06, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you can find the reliable source, put it in, but be weary. I think a lot was done at the time of the murders to make RAH seem less than normal to explain his crimes. JoeSmack ^Talk 17:09, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pete Wilson: Mayor[edit]

While I can't think of the right terminology for this myself right now (largely because I don't want to have it come across as an attack on capital punishment), I think that it's worth mentioning somewhere in the article that Pete Wilson (the CA Governor who denied Harris' request for clemency) was the Mayor of San Diego both when Harris committed his crimes and when Harris was convicted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.4.65.135 (talk) 06:07, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
