Contesting prod[edit]

I am contesting {{prod}}. This is a bona fide small sect of Hasidic Judaism, and is surely notable. Google may not show much, but that's no surprize when you're dealing with a group of people who generally do not use the internet. I think somebody cut and pasted some big blurb from a website here after prod was applied. I will solicit my fellow members of WP:JEW to get together and improve this guy, so please hold off on AfD until we get a chance to. I slapped an {{inuse}} on it. It has been six days! {{inuse}} means no one should touch the article, because someone is making edits and doesn't want to cross over. An article cannot be kept off limits to other editors until you happen to get around to it.

To a non-Jew, this article is almost incomprehensible due to such a large number of Jew-specific terms that one cannot devine their meaning through inference and context. He is a descendant in direct male line of Rabbi Asher Yeshaya Rubin of Ropshitz, son-in-law and successor of Rabbi Naftali Tzvi Horowitz of Ropshitz. (R. Chaim Meir Yechiel Moshe, son of R. Menachem Mendel of Muzhai, son of R. Yaakov Yisrael VeYeshurun of Sulitz, son R. Baruch of Brizdovitz, son of R. Meir of Glogov, son of R. Mendel of ?, son of R. Asher Yeshaya of Ropshitz. My justification was not the "two-day silence" but that "the merge seems obvious". I didn't think any silence was necessary; I thought the two articles were completely neglected. But the status quo has been returned now, and I don't mind at all - on the contrary, I've tried fixing the most glaring mistakes and referencing, so it's all מאי דהוה הוה anyways. Rebbe Menachem Mendel Zeida Rubin of Kolbasov, son of Rebbe Moshe of Raniżów (from his first marriage).^{[citation needed]} He married Gitel, daughter of his cousin, Rebbe Asher Yeshaya Rubin of Kolbasov. He was a dayan in Kolbasov. He died in the Holocaust.^[2]

Another descendent of the Dzhikov branch[edit]

Rabbi Meir Horowitz had daughter named Chana, whose son is Shalom David Unger, who was the Jabno Rebbe. His sister, Perel or Pearl, married Rav Yisroel Spira, who is the Bluzhever, the oldest living Chasidic rebbe at the time of his death. I wasn't sure if descendents by marriage through daughters are legitimate branches, and I don't know if on-line geneologies count as sources, so I'm posting this in the talk section.

Any guidance?

True, online genealogies (especially geni.com) are not considered reliable sources, but the information in this case can easily be confirmed in better sources. However, following the conventions of books that describe Chasidic dynasties, Rabbis Unger and Spira belong to different dynasties, and should be mentioned in different articles. הסרפד (call me Hasirpad) 17:06, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Promoted to C-class[edit]

Hi, HaSirpad:

Certainly no longer a stub. I assess as C-class for now. The dynastic information seems thorough and adequately cited (though you might add an ISBN or the like for ha-Ḥasidut mi-dor le-dor, if such is available). Main impediment to B-class is that you need some description of what makes Ropshitzers distinctive from other dynasties. Good luck, and Good Shabbos.
