Comment[edit]

I inserted a link at the relevant point in Eighty Years' War with a two-sentence summation, as that article is considered too "long" already, by those not very interested in its contents, no doubt.--Wetman (talk) 06:42, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the improvements here also. Good work.--Ereunetes (talk) 21:01, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"English soldiers"[edit]

Somebody added "England" as a belligerent in the campaign box, apparently because English mercenary soldiers were present as part of the Dutch States Army at the siege of Breda. However, England itself was neutral at the time; its 1625 war with Spain ended in 1630. The Dutch had nevertheless been given the right to hire English mercenaries in England (like also the Spanish crown). Englishmen were therefore fighting on both sides, but not as representatives of England. I have therefore removed this edit, though I admire its audacity :-)--Ereunetes (talk) 22:13, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes hence why I put soldiers not as the kingdom of England. Think twice before removing. Bruichladdich1 (talk) 00:33, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
