Not to merge with Godstone

[edit]

It seems innapropriate, historically and socially, for Lagham to be merged with Godstone. It shares no facilities with Godstone, has poor public transport links etc. The railway led to the name change demonstrating Victorian dislike of impoverished communities. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lagham (talkcontribs)

However in reply to Lagham, who it seems has lost his account, they share all of their representation with Godstone, being part of the same civil parish. A separate link from a Lagham disambiguation page to Godstone would be okay and redirect South Godstone to the relevant sub-section. Your point about public transport links is even worse from Godstone's perspective if you exclude Godstone South from Godstone with more modern bikes and the advent of car parking more people do have the option of using their nearest station in Godstone. After all, there are also the subsumed areas of Tyler's Green, Church Town and Anglefield Corner all within the parish and with the same political representatives and using its facilities as I know.Adam37 (talk) 16:36, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
South Godstone is a separate BUA to Godstone so should probably have a separate article. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:55, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
