Thank you for your suggestions. A couple quick notes:
  • Wikipedia tends to avoid putting Professor (or Doctor or similar titles) before names, particularly where it is not directly relevant (i.e., "Professor" is not a credential toward being a spouse.)
  • The term "edit" appears by default next to most section headers. It is not intended as a suggestion that that section is in more-than-usual need of editing; it is a link that can be clicked to edit just that section, rather than opening up the whole page for editing. --Nat Gertler (talk) 22:45, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've done another run on things. I've deleted some of the sentences you had concerns about, although less for any concern about whether the sentences could be comprehended, and more for concern regarding source. Much of the material in the article lacks any stated source, much less a source that reaches our standard for being a reliable source.
I have not deleted the "deadpan mainstream" quote (although I did adjust its formatting.) It is presented as a quote from a source. I do not have access to that source, my default presumption is that it is accurately quoting that source.
The suggested sentence "De Vries has explored the lives of significant women whose stories deserved to be better known" should not be added. It puts opinions into Wikipedia's voice. Wikipedia does not have opinions on which women are significant, nor which have stories that deserve to be better known.

Suggestions for improvement and corrections[edit]

Wikimedia received a communication identifying issues in this article. I have obtained permission from the writer to share the list here.

Please be aware that the list was prepared in May 2017, so some of the points may be moot.--S Philbrick(Talk) 16:23, 20 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
