[edit] Subject population

In a recent attempt to add false data on the Asian American article page, an IP editor had made a change not supported by the reference claiming that there are 1 million Taiwanese Americans. This lead me to this article, which provided a possible non-reliable source stating that there are 600K Taiwanese Americans. Therefore, I added the 2007 ACS data, with a link to the reference (the same used on the Asian American article), while not removing the pre-established reference. --RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 23:45, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

[edit] taiwanese citizenship

i am an american born Chinese. i applied for taiwanese nationality and got it. i never lived in tw. my father is a Chinese american who also got taiwanese nationality back in the 1960s when he went there to study. i know personally a filipino guy who has Chinese ancestry that successfully got the taiwanese nationality. however, none of us have the id card, because you need to go through the immigration proces to get it, whereas with the nationality, you dont need to. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ASD955668FYDS (talkcontribs) 16:00, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

[edit] conflicting numbers for taiwan-american population

Although the 2007 ACS says 100k, this article based on census data cites 342k for Taiwan-born immigrants in the US.
