Attention
[edit]Needs cleanup. --jergen 13:43, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
It needs a source for the history as I see none of the history material on the web site given. It also reads like a copy of a history and so may be a copyright violation. This must be checked. --Bduke 00:07, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Merge
[edit]It has been suggested on the Scouting Project that this article be merged somewhere. The target would be Scouting in Scotland. However there was a discussion last year at Talk:Scouting in Aberdeen to merge it to Scouting in Aberdeen, which itself has now been merged to Scouting in Scotland. There was no support to merge it. It does however need a cleanup and better sources, particularly for the history, need to be found. --Bduke (Discussion) 06:50, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- Support --—— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 13:04, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Comment. I remain neutral on this merge for a number of reasons. The article is quite large and all the content would be out of place in Scouting in Scotland. Only a couple of sentences there would be appropriate. The history of the area is interesting but it lacks sources. If it could be verified and sourced, perhaps it could be merged into another article, such as one on the local area, but I do not know the area and hence I do not know where to put it. I suggest we need to do some homework before deciding this issue. --Bduke (Discussion) 21:38, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Possible candidates for merging historical material on the area are Maryculter, Peterculter, or possibly Maryculter House, but which, I can not say. --Bduke (Discussion) 21:55, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose (I think...?) Especially if extra references can be found to support this entry, I think it sounds like a notable site both within and outside of Scouting. Might consider flagging this with one of the UK history projects? DiverScout (talk) 10:58, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- Now support. I have cleaned up this article somewhat and looked into it in some detail. The Park was for almost all its history part of Maryculter House. That article did not even link to the campsite until I added it today. I now think the history should be added to that article as it it more appropriate there. I will add a note to Talk:Maryculter House, to see what reaction there is from non-Scouting editors interested in articles on places in this area. The rest should be merged into Scouting in Scotland. I can find no sources that demonstrate notability at a level that suggests this camp site should join the small number of Camps or Activity Centres in UK such as Gilwell Park that do justify a separate article. --Bduke (Discussion) 01:37, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

Merge done, with the history section added to Maryculter House.--Bduke (Discussion) 07:42, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
