Untitled[edit]

A lot of the content of this article needs to move to Sentinel Waggon Works but without loosing information relevant to this article.--NHSavage 12:54, 13 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I have tried to move some of this but towards the end it gets confusing as the distinctions between TH(R), RR, Sentinel and Yorkshire become blurred. Additionally it would be good if infromation on when the firm closed (or if it is still going) could be added. Some of what is here seems to contradict a statement here that Sentinel ended in 1971. Was the Sentinel name kept on by Thomas Hill? If so this also needs to be mentioned in the Sentinel page.

I've added a huge chunk of material that needs properly editing. I'll do that over the next few weeks. 84.12.25.37 21:19, 4 September 2007 (UTC) In answer to the mid query - TH kept the "Sentinel", "Vanguard" and "Yorkshire" trade marks registered until after the take-over by Resco (Hunter group). Resco's view was that "you kept names registered by using them" so cancelled them on next renewal. I have made a number of corrections and amplifications based on personal knowledge as a TH employee 1978-88. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cl14901 (talkcontribs) 20:53, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
