Discussion please?[edit]

I don't understand why the paragraph I added about the BBC's report that Yuldeshev tried to warn the USA prior to the attacks of 9-11 was excised. Could we have a discussion about this? Isn't the BBC an authoritative, verifiable source?

Putting the "(also transliterated as...)" in italics is, I believe, standard wikipedia style.

But the paragraph is still there... and in your edit summary you said you added a reference, but it is the same reference... am I missing something..? KazakhPol 03:52, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. I think so.. Take a look at the second yellow block in this link, the paragraph after "line 6". It is gone.

Meaningful edit summaries?[edit]

Someone made a big excision without offering an explanation. I am going to leave a note on their talk page asking them to return here and explain themselves.

It was a copyright violation of this blog. I thought it was clear, since the site was linked in the revision, but my apologies if I caused any trouble. I should probably delete the relevant edits though. Cheers, CP 21:15, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Grievous error[edit]

The very premise of this article seems to be in some doubt. It is factually incorrect to say that IMU was founded in 1991. The source material for this alleged fact only states that the roots of the unrest that brought about its creation came that year. The creation of the group was announced in 1998, and I am not certain enough is known about the structure of the organisation to say with any certainty who was behind its inception. Moreover, a group with a slightly different emphasis also splintered away from the IMU shortly after (possibly in 1999 to organize a series of terrorist attacks in Tashkent, namely the Islamic Jihad Group or Islamic Jihad Union). My knowledge of this area is quite piecemeal, but I would suggest this article could be struck unless a serious revision can be made by somebody suitably qualified. Possible fair use image...[edit]

Here is an image of Tohir Yulashev http://www.longwarjournal.org/images/yuldashev-2006%20copy.php Could it be uploaded under fair use? Geo Swan (talk) 11:17, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The fact that he is dead means no new images can be created, but there appear to be others (like in the DIA links at the bottom). If any image was produced by his group, well, I don't know if we have a policy on respecting the copyrights of terrorist organizations in the badlands of Pakistan.
