The Grande Torino article should merge with the Torino F.C. page, but only as a sub-heading. Grande Torino was one of the historical teams of such club. Indeed the most famous. However, it also represents an important phase of the entire Italian football movement since in the Superga air disaster 9 out of the 11 national team players died. Absolutely for it! If need be form an appendix to Torino F.C. and call it Torino F.C. - History. Outside Italy the term Grande Torino is meaningless.

Beyond that, again one of my favourite gripes: why is the article called Torino F.C. and not Torino FC. All football clubs should have their respective monikers without the dots - and a standardization process should commence at earliest conveninece. I alway stumble on this issue when I link to a club with proper name and then find myself correcting my links because FC = F.C.or even Football Club, or vice versa. Global standard is FC. In Italian I say here: basta! That nonsense should be reined in. The same applies for AC, SC, etc.

Outside Italy the term Grande Torino is meaningless..... http://www.citadini.com.br/alambrado/oexp011215.htm. {{cite news}}: Missing or empty |title= (help)o inesquecivel Torino (PT)=The unforgettable torino....that team with Torino shirts is Corinthians (Brazil - first division),to homage Il Grande Torino ....or the River Plate (Argentina first division) that had (for many years) the Torino T-shirt as second T-shirt.....today River uses the Torino t-shirt in all match near to 4 may (superga air disaster date). http://www.riverplate.com/institucion/Historia/3419-river-torino-1949.html. {{cite news}}: Missing or empty |title= (help)

new club seal?[edit]

I was reading the Italian part of the UEFA website. In particular the fixture table, to see which teams were listed. I clicked on Torino's link, and it had a different seal: a vertical oval, IIRC. Is UEFA correct or is this wiki? (I tried, btw, to get onto the website, but UEFA had a dead link)--Coryma 20:58, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Torino FC Logo, and Grande Torino history[edit]

The new Torino FC Logo you can see on italian wiki pages (where I'm writing): rapresent a big bull with upper the write TORINO on garnet red above white, a blue bar, the bull logo and on right the FC write on white above garnet red. Recent modification added on left the "1906" foundation date. I'm trying to have the new from a contact directly from society.

I was also writing the history of the "Grande Torino" on a separate italian wiki page: I'm not able to translate it (my english, you see, is very basic) but if we can find one able to. I think it's important to have one like italian also here. --Rck S. 21:57, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cancel of 2005 Serie A promotion[edit]

At that time seen Torino lost

i think should mention in the History of Recent times. Matthew_hk tc 11:34, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Formation[edit]

The section on the Grande Torino says - "Grande Torino played with the 4-4-2 10 years before the Brazil 1958 World Cup team". Brazil played 4-2-4 in 1958, didn't they ? Tintin 17:15, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Translated the Italian article.[edit]

Thoughts? Thinking of creating a separate history article as the one on the main page is fairly long and needs to be summarised.
