Cinclodes from Cinclus, the dipper[edit]

I guess that Cinclodes means dipper-like, from Cinclus, the dipper. Cornell University's Neotropical Birds says suggestively that "the food of the White-winged Cinclodes may be aquatic insect larvae; ecologically a way to think of this species is like high elevation dipper (Cinclus sp.)." This sourced fact might be useful in the article. It would be nice to know if this resemblance is also the etymology, as seems very likely. Chiswick Chap (talk) 12:54, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
