The article for the Missouri River lists Pekitanoui, River of the West, and Yellow River only as variant names. If it's important enough there, it should be listed here. (Conversely, if it's not important enough here, then it should not be listed there!) The single reference[1] for variant names has a specific citation for Yellow River[2], Rydjord, John. Kansas Place Names, Norman, Okla: University of Oklahoma Press, 1972.
