  • Newness and length ok, picture in the public domain. I tweaked the hook a little to make it a bit more concise and better reflect the corresponding line in the article (the article doesn't mention the coalition warships even though the source does). I'm willing to pass it as it is, but all the units and conversions seem a bit messy so it would be great if someone more experienced with DYKs could confirm if it's standard practice to show the full units conversions in DYKs.-Well-restedTalk 03:46, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
  • Yes, the conversions work against conciseness, and look a bit awkward. I suggest we lose them and simply use kilometres for distance and tonnes for fuel. -- Ohc ¡digame! 02:11, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

  • requiring conversions is common practice and backed by style guidelines, but looks more than a bit awkward. The application of style guidelines in this particular case, runs so counter to the objective of conciseness that I think we should ignore.
