Macroelongatoolithus[edit]

5x expanded by Ashorocetus (talk). Self-nominated at 06:46, 27 November 2015 (UTC).

  • New enough, long enough (>5000 bytes), no copyvio or other policy issues found, hook length okay, QPQ done. Two minor issues: Could you place the hook source(s) at the end of the respective sentences as required by the criteria? (This applies to M. being a "fossil egg" and the length specification). Also, the article doesn't seem to say it's a "giant" egg. Is that a technical term for eggs with a certain (minimum) size, or just an informal description? Thanks --ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 16:55, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
  • Thanks. To answer your question, no "giant" isn't a technical term, it's just an informal description (to my knowledge, Macroelongatoolithus eggs are the largest fossil eggs ever discovered). Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression it an inline citation at the end of a paragraph is sufficient if all the material from that paragraph comes from that source. I would be happy to change it, but stylistically it looks kind of ugly to have the same citations after every sentence in a paragraph. Ashorocetus (talk | contribs) 19:48, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
  • At WP:WIADYK it says "Citations at the end of the paragraph are not sufficient." (3b, last sentence) I agree that this doesn't look very aesthetic. Sorry for the inconvenience. --ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 07:56, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
  • Good to go, then, for the original hook. (ALT1 is good, too, but I think the first sounds more interesting.)--ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 15:01, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

  • N.b. An image is available to complement the hook, at right. It is properly licensed. North America1000 01:26, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
  • True. That picture is a little hard to make out at this small size though. Ashorocetus (talk | contribs) 05:19, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
  • Yup. That's what it looks like at that size. A clump. . North America1000 14:04, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
