Mary Cabot Wheelwright[edit]

Mary Cabot Wheelwright, age 4
Mary Cabot Wheelwright, age 4

Created by Howkafkaesque (talk). Self-nominated at 23:09, 13 May 2016 (UTC).

  • The original hook looks confusing and too passive. I could not alter it, so I created the above instead. George Ho (talk) 15:35, 14 May 2016 (UTC)
  • New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. Hook refs verified and cited inline. No QPQ needed for first-time nominator. QPQ done. While ALT0 is passive, most DYK hooks are, and I think it's more important to put the subject's name first than to stress the artist's name, so I struck ALT4. I also struck ALT2 for being not as hooky as the others. ALTO is ready to run; I would suggest shortening the lead-in on ALT1 and mentioning who Klah was:
  • ALT4: ... that Mary Cabot Wheelwright (pictured as a child) recorded details about Navajo ceremonies in the early 20th century from medicine man Hosteen Klah? Yoninah (talk) 21:03, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
  • It appears that a WP:QPQ is in order, as the page creator has 5 DYK credits listed on his talk page. Not sure why none of them show up on QPQ check. Yoninah (talk) 21:05, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
  • Great, thanks. Since I just added "medicine man" from this and Hosteen Klah's page, I'll go ahead and approve this. ALT4 hook ref verified and cited inline. Image is freely licensed. Rest of review above. ALT4 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 15:09, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
