  • Second opinion requested to see if there is wiggle room in the timeline criteria. D9: "Seven days old" limit should be strictly enforced only if there is a large backlog of hooks. Otherwise nominated article may still be approved if it were created or expanded after the oldest date listed in Template talk:Did you know#Older nominations. The "oldest date listed" on the nominations is July 18, so I think this one can still be considered. WP:DYKSG — Maile (talk) 20:00, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

Please list review details, as a courtesy to the nominator, especially if meant to be used as a QPQ. Please don't leave room for this being pulled from promotion because of inadequate review.   • Hi, I came by to re-review this, but I don't understand your reasoning, @Maile66:. This article was posted on September 13 and nominated on October 4, three weeks later. The rules clearly state that hooks should be nominated within a 7-day window. Considering this is the nominator's first DYK, he should acquaint himself with the rules first.   • We have typically given a a few days leeway for first-time nominators, especially as they may not have heard about DYK beforehand, or not until after the seven-day period has expired. That said, this was nominated 21 days after the article was moved from Draft space to mainspace on September 13, and to highlight the initial clause of D9 above, there are currently 312 nominations for DYK (95 approved), which is a large backlog by any definition, and renders the rest of D9 effectively moot. Nominating two weeks late strikes me as well beyond the scope of either D9 or WP:IAR. I hope that Neegzistuoja will try again with a more timely nomination.
