Poya Bridge[edit]

  • ... that Switzerland's Poya Bridge was constructed together with an adjacent tunnel containing an underground roundabout?
  • ALT1:... that the main span of the Poya Bridge is the longest in Switzerland?
  • Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Pachycorioolithus
  • Comment: No English-language references; the hook is easily supported by the photos in the references (no need to translate several passages); alt1 is supported by: "D’une portée centrale de 196 mètres – ce qui constituera un record en Suisse – le pont de la Poya comprend trois voies de circulation..." ([1]; translation: "With a main span of 196 metres - which is a Swiss record - the Poya Bridge has three lanes of traffic..."); "Fribourg bat un record de Suisse avec cet ouvrage d'art haubané...sa portée centrale entre les deux piliers est longue de 196 mètres." ([2]; translation: "Fribourg sets a record in Switzerland with this suspended signature structure...its main span between the two pylons is 196 metres long.")

  • This article is new enough and long enough. Either hook could be used, the hook facts have inline citations, the article is neutral, and the sources are in French so no direct comparisons are helpful. The article and source claims this is the longest bridge span in Switzerland and I do not intend to dig around online and try to disprove this fact. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 08:32, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
