Dawan Owens (born April 25, 1978) is an American actor and comedian. He is known for his series regular role on BET prank show Hell Date and his recurring role as Chester in the Comedy Central series Secret Girlfriend.
Career[edit]
Dawan made his major acting debut in 2007, on BET prank show Hell Date. In 2008, he landed a series regular role in the Dakota Pictures produced, Troy Miller directed, The Bobby Lee Project received a pilot order from Comedy Central. His big break, turned out not to be, after the network decided against picking up the pilot. During 2009, he appeared in a minor role in Fox show MADtv. During that same year she had a recurring role in the Comedy Central series Secret Girlfriend as Chester. In 2012 he appeared in the CBS Criminal Minds season Finale as Zack Hanson and in a Miller Lite commercial. In June of 2012, he landed a large recurring role, as Record Executive Kevin Means, in Fuse Network first scripted series The Hustle, the show is currently awaiting air date.
Personal life[edit]
Dawan was born in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2000, he graduated from University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Science. During his time there, he walked on to the University's football program and later spent two semesters on their baseball team.
