The team name is no longer “Redskins” it is Commanders which is more accurate. There is a note on the team page of the former name. The name Redskin is an offensive and derogatory name and is a racial slur. 24.243.188.56 (talk) 15:43, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

All true, but attempting to rewrite history to pretend that the team was never called the offensive name is also offensive: it lets the people who named the team, and used the offensive name for decades, off the hook for doing so – erasing the crime without undoing the harm.

It also rewrites history in a nonsensical way: Mr Taylor never played for the Commanders – the team had a different name at the time and saying otherwise will confuse people. 81.187.192.168 (talk) 16:03, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
