FV at Shoreham[edit]

Hi. Sorry to revert you here. Looking at the AIB report I found this: "Ground crew reported that the pre-flight checks and engine start were normal and that the safety pins for the pilot’s ejection seat had been removed and placed in the stowage provided prior to departure to arm the seat and its associated systems." Does that not say the seat was live? Now I've got absolutely NO hostile intent here, so if I am wrong please just revert me with an explanation. I may well have missed the point or misunderstood the terminology. Thanks and best wishes DBaK (talk) 09:56, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well spotted. I must have overlooked that para. 80.2.106.75 (talk) 22:33, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!! :) DBaK (talk) 00:26, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Editing while logged out?[edit]

Hi 80.2.106.75. The edits from this account make it appear to be a fixed IP address - the edits are all of a piece. Would you please clarify whether or not you have a named account in Wikipedia? Please answer honestly. If you do have an account you must disclose that per WP:SOCK. It is OK to edit while logged out, but you must make it clear that you are the same person as a named account. Please note that there are consequences to your answer -- if a later sockpuppet investigation (WP:SPI) shows that you are the same person as one using a named account, you (the person editing from a named account and from an IP address) can be blocked from editing Wikipedia. If you do not have a named account, please consider registering a user name. It is simple to do, and very useful for everyone involved in controversial articles. The link to create an account is here. You can reply here - I am watching this page. I'll have some follow up questions for you too, and appreciate your taking the time to engage with me. Best regards Jytdog (talk) 16:38, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No, I do not have an account, and never have had. Although it's not entirely true that my IP address is fixed, it changes from time to time at the whim of my ISP. My two most recent incarnations before this one were 82.16.87.209 and 86.5.31.8. 80.2.106.75 (talk) 06:57, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for disclosing those two additional IP addresses, that was good of you. I had already reviewed your edits under this IP and just reviewed those two as well. Your edits and comments are pretty wiki-savvy, which is unusual for an IP editor bt not unheard of. They are all focused on aviation, but appear to be mostly neutral so I have no questions about conflict of interest. (If you do have any conflict of interest with regard to subjects you edit, as we define COI in WP (see WP:COI) please be sure to declare it; if you have questions about whether you do, please feel free to ask me on-wiki or email me) Also please do consider registering an account; if you don't register one (and it is your right not to), if your IP changes again and you are in discussions with people on a Talk page or deletion discussion, please make sure you let the other discussants know that you are the same person to avoid concerns that you are trying to look like more than one person. Thanks for talking! Jytdog (talk) 14:20, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
"Wiki-savvy" - I like that. I might even have them put it on my gravestone! 80.2.106.75 (talk) 20:34, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

LaMia crash[edit]

G'day from Oz; at the risk of sounding condescending, I just wanted to let you know that I reckon you have done an outstanding job with your work on the LaMia 2933 article. If you didn't have a dynamic IP address I would shower you with Barnstars. Cheers YSSYguy (talk) 11:31, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, and the same to you. Praise is always welcome and never condescending. (And I haven't got to grips with emojis yet, so barnstars would be way over my head). Keep up the good work! And remind me never to go flying in Bolivia. 80.2.106.75 (talk) 11:46, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

June 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Shadowowl. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to United Airlines Flight 811— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. » Shadowowl | talk 06:29, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Thanks for the fv on Air France Flight 4590[edit]

Thank you for your 19:14, 10 June 2016 edit to Air France Flight 4590#‎Previous tyre incidents, flagging the {{failed verification}}. I've added an AAIB Bulletin reference which shows that the July 1993 incident occurred during landing, not takeoff. Cheers! -- ToE 12:17, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for finding that report. 80.2.41.198 (talk) (Formerly known as 80.2.106.75) 08:24, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
