Tournament Brackets[edit]

Thank you for making the changes to Template:16TeamBracket, Template:4TeamBracket, and Template:8TeamBracket. However, I have temporarily reverted your edits. Keep in mind that whenever you change the default values, it affects every single article it is used in.

You see, when I originally created those three templates, I designed them for the final round of various American sports organizations, like the National Basketball Association, the National Hockey League, and Major League Baseball, where the final round is a best-of-seven playoff — that is why we in the United States usually call them the finals, in the plural.

In fact, in American English, it could be said that we generally use the term "finals" more than "final" when referring specifically to the the final stages of a sporting competition. OK, fair point. I did realise that this would affect all articles that use the template, but I was just being bold -- I thought it was a simple grammar mistake. I've reverted Template:32TeamBracket and Template:32TeamBracket-Compact as well. I guess users of the template can customise the headings, so it's no big deal. Thanks for keeping me right. Actually, it looks like Template:32TeamBracket-Compact is currently only being used on the French Open and Wimbledon articles [1] so "final" without the "s" might be better on that one. It is the same situation with Template:Round16, which is primarily only used on 2006 FIFA World Cup and other football articles. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 15:39, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]


Call for consensus on fan site list on Andy Murray page[edit]

Hello Adw2000,

You've probably noticed my (probably foolhardy) attempt to resolve the edit war on the Andy Murray page regarding fansites. The protagonists do not look about to resolve it among themselves, so I'd appreciate it if you and other regular editors could express your views on this part of the page, so that we can stop the war going forward, or at least block a protagonist who persists in it. Please come to the talk page here

The questions I've put are:

Please can I have the opinions of those who regularly edit this site:

1.Should there be a list of fansites?

2.Should it be ordered

a) alphabetically
b) by site's popularity or quality
c) by some other factor

3. If by popularity/quality how to judge this?

Proposed deletion of Sleaze[edit]

The article Sleaze has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This page redirects from a general term 'sleaze' to a very particular use for it, thus being misleading. I propose having it deleted, and if anything, people who search for "Sleaze" will get the Political sleaze (UK politics) result.

Sleaze listed at Redirects for discussion[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Sleaze. Since you had some involvement with the Sleaze redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so).
