Speedy deletion nomination of Amac[edit]

A tag has been placed on Amac, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. September 2009[edit]

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Amac, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Wikipedia:Your first article; you might also consider using the Article Wizard. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 00:04, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Re Amac -- you need to find reliable independent sources (see WP:V) to show that the organization meets the notability standards of WP:ORG. Your getting one mailing from them isn't enough. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 00:06, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • You asked a human being to respond to you, and I did. Now I ask you to respond. Please don't repost this article again without reading the Wikipedia policies I just cited to you, and don't post it unless and until you can meet those guidelines. NawlinWiki (talk) 00:11, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is the final warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you create an inappropriate page, such as Amac, you will be blocked from editing. Eeekster (talk) 00:15, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not attack other editors, as you did at User talk:Eeekster. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 05:28, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 01:47, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

    • I've responded to you -- several times. Let me try once more.

I have no inherent objection to there being an article on AMAC. I understand your reasoning. The problem is that you have no reliable sources to show that this group is notable per WP:ORG. All you have, so far, is that they sent you a mailing and that you looked up the contact person for their website. That doesn't meet WP:V. Can you find a news article that discusses AMAC? A book? Again, see WP:V. Also, you can work on the article in your userspace (say, at User:Allisoj1/AMAC while you are searching for sources. If and when you find some, ask me to look at your draft. But as of now, all you have is that "This group sent me junk mail." That's not enough, yet, for an article. NawlinWiki (talk) 01:52, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This site is so confusing[edit]

I see I can post on your page or my page and your can post on my page or respond on your page. I didn't know where to look. You should really cut some slack for noobs. Allisoj1 (talk) 02:42, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Might I make a suggestion? You have a watchlist which you can you to keep an eye on other users' pages or specific articles; to add a page to your watchlist click on the "Watch" tab up on top of the page or check the "Watch this page" box on the edit screen. Pages listed on your watchlist always show the most recent edit to the page. -Jeremy (v^_^v Tear him for his bad verses!) 02:49, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Jeremy[edit]

I have a much better understanding of Wikipedia now. It's been a little rough, but I think I'm catching on.

I know admins don't get paid. At least they didn't last I heard. I appreciate what you do. I'm sure you get a lot of crap posted. I can kind of understand what happened, but it was a rude awakening. Allisoj1 (talk) 03:17, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Usually in the case of people posting things that appear to be inappropriate, it's someone who doesn't quite yet fully grasp what Wikipedia is about, and a little education really never hurt anyone. -Jeremy (v^_^v Tear him for his bad verses!) 03:33, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmmm..[edit]

Well, the part where you gave me helpful tips on the wiki site interface was welcome. That's why I said thanks.

I admit I was ignorant initially. I wrote what I thought was a good entry that had some issues I didn't anticipate.

I was smacked down as a spammer. I was not.

That's the part I still have a problem with.

The process works way to fast to not just moderate questionable content, but DELETE it, almost immediately.

Sometimes when you live with a system too long, you take for granted things that are really not acceptable, just because you become used to it, maybe even like it.

Maybe wiki needs some new blood.

I'm not saying anything.. I'm just saying.

James

Why on earth do you still have to type in four tildes to add a signature? That's an example of unacceptable taken for granted. EOM[edit]
