Fair enough[edit]

FWIW, I -did- read all of what you suggested before unblocking; if I did not "participate" in the discussion, I certainly READ it before acting. I appreciate your advice and will take it under advisement, though, even if I didn't feel it needed to be -quite- that harshly phrased. GJC 20:49, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't feel I was particularly harsh, but felt it needed to be said. However, not letting a user know their block settings have been changed isn't okay. AniMate 20:56, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removing birth year in BLP[edit]

Hi, with regard to this deletion from the Alec Powers BLP, the rationale of not being necessary seems odd to me. Most BLPs have years of birth/death included to potentially distinguish that person from any other with similar names and in this case is germane to context as Powers started starring in adult films when he was particularly young (for the '90s). Perhaps you could clarify the reason for removing this adequately sourced information or revert? Cheers Ash (talk) 11:41, 3 BFebruary 2010 (UTC)

Is Alec Powers his real name? Probably not. Is the website attributed to Alec Power reliable? Probably not. AniMate 11:45, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The information is based on more than one official publisher's data and his official website (complying with WP:SPS with regard to biographical data). There seems no particular reason to doubt it. I don't doubt that "Alec Powers" is a stage name, to that extent one could argue that we are discussing a constructed public persona rather than the true person. This is still not a reason to exclude published data. If you wish, it could be qualified by the statement "as stated on his official website", however the footnote you deleted already served that purpose. Ash (talk) 12:41, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fastily[edit]

User:Daniel Christensen isn't the first editor who Fastily has dealt with this way. User:Ericci8996 got a similar welcome on a smaller scale on 4 January this year. No doubt there will be more before that, and I may actually be motivated enough to look through the sock's contribs to find them. The fact that he'd actually remove free images from an article, without replacing them, is not good. But then to nominate these images he had just removed for deletion as "orphaned", "unencyclopedic", and "use not stated" is completely unacceptable behaviour. Participation at my RfA[edit]

Thank you for taking the time to weigh in on my RfA. It was successful, in that the community's wish not to grant me the tools at this time was honored. I'm taking all the comments as constructive feedback and hope to become more valuable to the project as a result; I've also discovered several new areas in which to work. Because debating the merits of a candidate can be taxing on the heart and brain, I offer this kitten as a low-allergen, low-stress token of my appreciation. --otherlleft 14:36, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, AniMate! I'd like to invite you to join the Percy Jackson task force. We work on improving Percy Jackson & the Olympians articles and would appreciate your help. Cheers! Airplaneman talk 04:24, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the invite. There's so much work that needs to be done there I wouldn't even know where to begin. Honestly, I was just doing a little cleanup before the movie came out, and don't have much interest in the series. AniMate 04:42, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, I agree there's tons of work to be done. The problem is that most members join because they see this project as a fan club and never edit again. Thanks for your help! Airplaneman talk 04:50, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Daphne Caruana Galizia[edit]

I find it mind-blowing that the article about Malta's most prominent journalist could be deleted after I provided over thirty references to her. I checked out some of the contributions of one of the people petitioning for its deletion. His first article was about a guy in America who has crammed his house with Elvis memorabilia! Its absolutely hilarious that that could be considered more noteworthy than the most prominent journalist in Malta. I do realise that people from larger countries sometimes look down on smaller countries and find them insignificant but I think this is taking it too far! But no, I am sure you are right: this has nothing to do with being Maltese. If it was an article about a British or American journalist it would have been deleted too. In fact I am quite sure there are no articles at all about American journalists on wikipedia! Qattusu (talk) 09:24, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, look here's an article about Paola Giangiacomo, a news reporter from Scranton, an American town of about 75,000 people! Guess what? It hasn't been deleted! Why not? Well, because its about an American of course!

Hey, here's an article about Giovanni Paterniti! Who? Well, the guy was the American Vice-Consul to Italy until 1911! Guess who wrote it? The guy who petitioned for the Daphne Caruana Galizia article to be deleted because she isn't notable! Giovanni Paternitti is though! Well, he's American of course! Qattusu (talk) 11:34, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Giovanni Paterniti niti! Off2riorob (talk) 11:38, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, sorry for the spelling mistake. Great response there. You really proved me wrong there. And Animate, I appreciate your offer. You haven't been as arrogant as many of the other users. I have provided over thirty references to this subject including from all of the main Maltese newspapers in the English language (when I included one in English I was told that wasn't allowed, though it seems non-English articles are OK for articles about Giovanni Paterniti!) That she is a notable personality is in no doubt whatsoever. Ask any Maltese person if she is notable and they will laugh their heads off. I know Malta isn't the biggest country in the world but it is five times the size of Scranton, after all. The article should certainly be included and I have no doubt it will be restored by someone but I don't know if I can be bothered to start writing it again (although I wasn't the person who wrote it in the first place) when its notability will be judged by people who are so utterly ignorant about the subject but so quick to pass judgement about. I might try to write it again at some point, when I will take on your kind offer for help. Qattusu (talk) 12:36, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi AniMate. Thanks for handling that - I was tucked up in bed! I hope you don't mind, but I've extended the block to indefinite - clearly he wasn't going to give up until it got extended to indef so there's little point in wasting all of our time blocking every 24 hours. Hopefully you're okay with that, but please let me know if you're not. Hope you're well. Regards, Ryan PostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 09:04, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I absolutely don't mind. I was going to do it myself, but the quite specific instructions for blocking as laid out at the arbitration page made me a wee bit leery... so I pawned that off on you. AniMate 17:31, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Time to run[edit]

Hey AniMate, I'm going for a jog. It always helps to calm me down especially when that Carrie Prejean talk page gets out of hand with POV pushers who think they own that article. Caden cool 22:48, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, have a good jog. Remember, they probably think the same thing about you. Also, and this is just my opinion, there is a big difference between "hateful speech" and hate speech. AniMate 22:51, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What do you make of it? I just commented on it on my talk page. Flyer22 (talk) 20:50, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Restoring deleted talk page comments, WP:BATTLE, WP:HARASS, WP:STALK, WP:AGF, WP:No Personal Attacks, template misuse[edit]

You just restored a comment I deleted from my own talk page, so -- since you don't behave responsibly -- stay off my talk page. Don't restore removed comments. You stalk me;[1][2][3] engage in WP:BATTLE ad nauseum; accuse me of things, and then of the opposite of these things (e.g., discussing too much, refusing to discuss); revert me on sight, and then have to be reverted yourself[4][5][6]; and generally act in bad faith, while accusing me of the same.[7]
You attack me in your edit summaries[8] while accusing me of npa.
And you just misused a template that is only supposed to be used by uninvolved editors.[9][10]
I don't get paid, and have no obligation to you, so stop harassing me. -- Rico 19:33, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, at least this is a response. You've ignored requests for mediation and just about every other overture I've made towards you. You complain but refuse to actually offer any way to fix the things you complain about. I'm fairly certain that no one will disagree when I say we can ignore you over at the Prejean article from now on, unless you're willing to actually do something besides bitch. As for the battle, harass, stalk, agf, personal attacks, and template misuse... report me. I'm fairly certain no one will see any merit in your complaints. Of course you won't report me, all you do is leave long screeds on talk pages. Until you are willing to work with others, why don't you just leave. AniMate 19:34, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have no obligation to reply to your request for mediation. I'm a volunteer. InaMaka didn't agree to mediate, so it can't happen. After seeing you egregiously take Caden's comment out of context, turning a joke into a serious comment -- by deliberately not including that he'd said it was a joke[11][12] -- when he was blocked and couldn't reply -- I have to wonder who you know at mediation. Besides the comments of passersby are usually worth bupkis, and lots of people email some ally to close something in their favor.
Editing Wikipedia isn't all I do.
You accuse me of "bitching", and try to silence me, and then claim I don't discuss -- when I can prove I did.
What do you want from me? Unpaid work by force?
You claimed I "studiously" avoided it? You claimed the article was frozen as a response to my request? You keep trying to claim I don't discuss on the article talk page, but I've discussed a shitload!
If you don't like it, why do you ask for more?
You go right, then you go left ... -- Rico 19:46, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You certainly are good at complaining. Complaining isn't discussing. You leave extremely long blocks of text saying what's wrong, but thus far I haven't really seen any discussion from you on how to improve what you are so displeased about. Make some suggestions... or you can leave another long rant. I'm fairly certain which of those two tactics you'll take. I have no idea what you're talking about in regards to Caden, and I ask you to back up your complaints in the title of this thread by reporting me. AniMate 19:53, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what kind of a game you're playing, but I'm continually on this talk page now that you have goaded and provoked me into responding to you. I've asked you to stay off my talk page, yet you are constantly on it, during the course of this brief conversation -- even though you have every reason to believe that I know we're discussing here, because you there's been almost no time in between posts.
I can only conclude that you're playing some game, trying to provoke me.
Don't you have anything better to do, in the real world perhaps?
Why don't you just play on your side of the street, and I'll play on mine.
I'm not gonna play games with you. -- Rico 20:03, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't aware you had asked me to stay off your talk page. I'd like a link to that request. I'm also still confused about your comment about Caden and why you won't report me for the list of complaints in the thread title. As for the misused template: Now that you have stated that this thread is no longer useful, I'll be happy to stop posting.[13] The thread is really long and you've stated you won't post there anymore. I don't see any problem with collapsing it for improved talk page navigation. If it really upsets you, feel free to undo the collapse. I won't revert you. AniMate 20:06, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My request that you stay off my talk page is at the top of this subsection.
If you straighten up and fly right, I'll make it a point to invite you to post on my talk page at will.
I'd say that this post is an indication that you may be capable of good faith.
I give you more credit than most of the Wikipedian's I've come across on the attack coatrack, and I think you did yeoman's work with your weedwacker. Okay?
I don't think you're a s__t. You've misinterpreted me, and I think that may be providing you with motivation for WP:BATTLE that is misplaced.
I've already discussed nominating it for deletion, and I'm not the only one.
What you did to Caden was one of the worst, deliberate exhibitions of bad faith I've ever seen on Wikipedia.
Are you sure you want me to put it here?
I'm not available for free work. -- Rico 20:21, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Rico, my main and only problem with you is that you complain and don't offer solutions. You left a list of supposed policy violations in the title for this thread, but won't actually report them. You left post after post after post of complaints on Jimbo's talk page while not posting on the article talk page and without offering any real ways to improve anything. You rebuffed any and all efforts towards discussion in favor of rants. Your approach is antithetical to collaborative editing. Unless you're willing to back up your complaints with attempts at solutions, I think you should stop making them. And yes, Caden and I have a fairly good relationship. You're free to put anything here you'd like. AniMate 20:34, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Instead of editing old comments or replying to old comments, which is pretty much all you did for a month, would you consider revealing this horrible thing I did to Caden? AniMate 22:31, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Political Cesspool[edit]

I've responded to your comments at The Political Cesspool's FAC page; hope that takes care of your concerns. If you have any further suggestions, by all means add them! Stonemason89 (talk) 19:53, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sources, in order[edit]

  • I'll start with Aingers Green and Acron, Florida. Well, Acron doesn't really count, since I didn't add any sources, I just formatted what was there and removed the tag because there was a source. So, let's just focus on Aingers Green. According to Wikipedia:OUTCOMES#Places, the rule is "Cities and villages are generally kept, regardless of size, as long as their existence is verified through a reliable source." Now, i'm not entirely sure about hamlets or where they rank on that scale, but I put references as if it was a village. Regardless, this source that I added to the article is perfectly fine, as it can be used for the bar that won the accolade in Aingers. As for the other ones, I put them in there because it verifies existence, which I needed to do per Outcomes. SilverserenC 18:26, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Next is the Patty Loveless song source. I'm not sure where you were looking, because I very clearly see a sentence that reads "Her debut album, Patty Loveless, yielded two Top 40 hits, "After All" and "Lonely Day, Lonely Nights." and a rash of "most promising new female vocalist" praises from critics." I would think that that is a perfectly reasonable source, as it verifies the Top 40 status of the single, so i'm not entirely sure why you removed it. SilverserenC 18:26, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Next is Abhishiktananda. I've always considered references to be references and sources to be external links, considering they are both in the article and give verifiability to the subject. If you really want me to turn them into references, i'll do so, but they still serve to verify the information, even if they aren't in-line citations. SilverserenC 18:26, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Khaled Abdul-Wahab. The same as with Abhishiktananda. The External Links very, very clearly show notability and verification for the subject. I don't think they should have to be in-line citations to do so. IN FACT...

I know for a FACT that they don't have to be, because there's an entirely different template saying that "This article lacks in-line citations, but has many external links", or something to that effect. That shows that external links count as sources, so the tag is unnecessary. SilverserenC 18:26, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • For Aasu, same explanation as with Aingers Green, except Aasu is called a village, so it falls perfectly into that. THe sources give verification that it exists, which is all that is necessary. And, regardless, the first source there had "A monument in Aasu, Massacre Bay, to the 12 members of La PÈrouse's crew who were killed there, is on the National Register." This can easily be added as info in the article, so it's a fine source to put in. SilverserenC 18:26, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Is that all of them? No more that you reverted that you didn't tell me about? SilverserenC 18:26, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There, i've referenced most of them, just for you. SilverserenC 19:39, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • Well you sure showed me. Who knew how little effort on my part it would take to get you to make actual, if minor, improvements to the encyclopedia. You still don't understand external links though. From the policy: Some acceptable links include those that contain further research that is accurate and on-topic, information that could not be added to the article for reasons such as copyright or amount of detail, or other meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article for reasons unrelated to its accuracy. A man having a car accident doesn't fit that definition at all. And why are you throwing AfD policies at me? The articles weren't up for deletion, and I hadn't nominated them. Still, I suppose I should thank you for doing the bare minimum amount of improvement on the articles. You can now go back to adding every AfD you participate in to the ATS hall of fame, voting keep on every AfD you run across, and doing very little improvement to articles. AniMate 20:52, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have to be so very sarcastic? SilverserenC 21:15, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • I guess I should respond further than just saying that. *sigh* I linked to OUTCOMES, because it still applies in general by what it says. I can link you directly to the Notability for places, if you'd wish.
  • I agree about the car accident link, but you haven't responded to what I said about the other two links that were there.
  • I have actually not been adding anything to the Hall of Fame for a while now, nor will I be. I'm not going to bother anymore.
  • You are obviously mistaken about how I work on AfD. I only ever respond to discussions about articles that I think should be kept. Almost every discussion that I don't participate in can be implied that I think it should be deleted as well. I find voting "Delete" a waste of my time, as i'd rather be making better content for the project, which is why I only participate in discussions that I vote "Keep" in.
  • I am working on my own articles, thank you very much.
  • I notice that you didn't mention any of the other things you reverted, especially the Patty Loveless one. Is that because i'm right?
  • I would think you have better things to do than to follow my edits. It's kind of creepy, really, even if it is allowed. SilverserenC 21:22, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Children of General Hospital/ Kristina Corinthos-Davis[edit]

Kristina's actresses need to be listed like everyone else is. Plus the way that her section was written did not make sense one bit. That is why I change it. Thanks --M42380 (talk) 20:49, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you mind looking at Talk:Children of General Hospital; it is listed that we would like to have All the actors on the article. If not the notable ones that have played the children. I belive that is what user:M42380 has been trying to do. Thank you --Jenan34 (talk) 21:43, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just to make things clear, you think we should have all the actor there, at the actual character articles, and at List of General Hospital characters? Do you think that much detail is really necessary, and, if so, could you explain why? AniMate 21:56, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
User:M42380 is trying to explain on why that user feels it so much important. I can see that user's getting annoyed with the fact that he or she has tried to explain it and you seem to refuse to listen to he or she is trying to explain to you. If I could help, just let me know. --Jenan34 (talk) 20:36, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah yeah same ol' same ol'[edit]

I know you don't like me. But I have every right to provide a diff on my page. You, on the other hand, are not permitted to edit my page (being a sysop doesn't give you that right WP:IDONTLIKEIT). I was not disparaging another user. I was not putting words into his mouth. If he can't stand by what he says, then he shouldn't say it. I will be restoring the link. –Turian (talk) 04:17, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Further to that, I have reverted your edit to Turians userpage. It would be wrong for you to look at the phrase 'leaving because of users like this' and conclude that it is a disparaging statement. There is no accompanying qualifier that would make this so - it is just a statement. If I say 'I am leaving my cellar because of circumstances such as the water flooding in' it is not that I am disparaging the water, it's just a statement. Clicking on the link provided on Turians page likewise does not lead to a diff where he disparages anyone. Turian could easily have phrased it in a way that was disparaging or a personal attack, but obviously chose not to do so, and there is no reason why his statement should be censored. I guess I'm going to have to do the RfA-thing per this ;) Cheers, Jack Merridew 01:52, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would enjoy that on so many levels. You haven't a snowball's chance in hell of passing, even though you'd likely be better at it than most. Who knows? The community can sometimes surprise me.We might even get A Nobody back, since I'm sure he'd agree to face ArbCom rather than let you become an admin. AniMate 01:59, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's probably not the only inactive editor that would crawl out from under their rock. I'm in no hurry, though, as I know I've more freedom as a mere editor. Cheers, Jack Merridew 02:05, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Pffft. That's no fun. Still if you ever decide to go for it, let me know. I'll happily support or even nominate. In the meantime, I think you should go sit in the corner and think about how wrong it is for non-administrators to close threads that are clearly not productive. Once you've had a nice think, write a 500 word essay to be turned in before you resume editing, and remember not to ever do something so blatantly disruptive again. AniMate 02:09, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I was kinda hoping you'd box the damn thing up. Might have, too; I've not looked back. Guess I'll not revert Matt57. You know I'm an admin at wikisource? Not too active over there, though. I'll run, here, one of these days; mostly a timing question.
I've floated an idea you might like. On boards like ANI, when a thread gets messy, it gets kicked to a subpage that's protected. Admins participate and the mob gets to bicker over on whatever sub-talk page, where they're mostly ignored. On the real page, the serious people talk calmly and productively about whatever. A variation would somehow allow a few interested parties beside the admin corp to edit the main discussion; i.e. full protection could be omitted in lieu of a rule about participation. Cheers, Jack Merridew 02:40, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

your unblock[edit]

Your unblock of User Matt57 is very poorly judged in my opinion, do you think it is ok to ask for the private telephone numbers of editors loved ones and suggest you will have a word with them? I fail to see what you think he has said the alleviates such comments, or what you have unblocked him for at all? Your actions make such comments appear to be ok, and in fact your unblocking of him actually encourages such comments. Off2riorob (talk) 14:22, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're being silly. He made a comment in anger, which wasn't a serious attempt to get someone's personal information, and has since stepped back. Drop the stick. AniMate 18:21, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't care if he meant it or not, he should not have said it. A weeks block was totally fine, it is your unblocking that was silly, and that has created the problem. Why did you feel the need to unblock him, at least he has seen the light and stepped back, there was no need for him to do that, it was created by your silly unblock. You should have left him with his block and that was fine a punishment equal to his mistaken comments. What value you saw in unblocking him is beyond me. Off2riorob (talk) 18:56, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're complaining here, at Matt57's page, at Tarc's page, and at Georgewilliamherbert's page. If you have such a problem with this, why not take it to a noticeboard and get my unblock reversed. If you think my administrative actions are bad, why not file an WP:RFC/U. I'd also like to note that I'm open to WP:RECALL. My model is User:Lar/Accountability. AniMate 19:02, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Your single action here is my issue, as far as recall goes, whatever. You should not repeat such needless disruptive unblocks. Off2riorob (talk) 19:05, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You are the only person complaining that it was disruptive, and you're complaining everywhere. Either do something or go away. AniMate 19:07, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Favor?[edit]

AniMate, will you watch the Susan Lucci and Bianca Montgomery articles for me for a bit (just for a couple or few days at least)? I may not be back to Wikipedia for two days. With the Susan Lucci article, an editor has sort of engaged in an edit war with me for simply having the article state that Erica Kane is considered an icon (in fact, that editor seems to remove a lot of stuff he or she considers POV, though he or she is often correct in that assumption). And with the Bianca Montgomery article, the placing-Eden-Riegel's-picture-second stuff has already started; I addressed the first person (an IP) about having done that. In return, anything you need me to do on Wikipedia, I will go ahead and do (with no huge delay). Flyer22 (talk) 01:58, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind. It seems I was able to spend some time on Wikipedia today, and I might be able to tomorrow as well. Plus, it seems that the Susan Lucci/Erica Kane issue may be over now. If not, I will take care of it. I will still likely need your help regarding the Bianca Montgomery image matter, but I can fair on my own. I hope all is well with you. Take care. Flyer22 (talk) 04:04, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not really gonna be around much either, but I went ahead and added them to my watchlist. AniMate 08:22, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I find it hard to believe that an experienced wikipedian such as yourself would revert an unsourced edit revert, such as you did to Laura Horton. That spoiler was added BEFORE her return, and it was unsourced...what's going on with that? Of course, I watch the show and am aware that she returned yesterday, but I can't source it. pathetic liar[edit]

Yawn

Animate, why did you search out User:A Nobody on another site to post this?

"Saying you're too sick to edit there while consistently editing here and at other wikia projects makes you look like a liar with absolutely no honor. Perhaps you're fine with that, and if that's the case you are truly a pathetic person."[14][15]

Okip 18:48, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I felt it needed to be said. AniMate 22:15, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Except that it seems like harassment. SilverserenC 22:53, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I made a single comment and won't be going back there (especially since I, like many others, have been blocked). AniMate 22:54, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And that's the reason why he blocked all of you. Constant harassment like that. Also why he already left Wikipedia. Dream Focus 21:16, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I left a single message. Three of the most active members of the keep squad come here and leave me hostile messages. Who's being harassed? AniMate 23:20, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I just have your page watched. That's why i'm here. Not sure about Dream Focus. SilverserenC 23:23, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This is pointless anyway. A Nobody didn't leave because he was being harassed, he left because he was too sick to edit at Wikipedia. AniMate 23:31, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That has nothing to do with what i'm trying to say. Regardless of his reason for leaving, following him to a far-off Wikia site just so you can say things to him like "makes you look like a liar with absolutely no honor" and "you are truly a pathetic person" is harassment. SilverserenC 23:43, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • I was following Okip from the suddenly closed case concerning A Nobody, he usually writing some good stuff, and his last few contributions were here. A Nobody keeps a list of edits he considers harassment. [16] Didn't you previously post something on the List wikia? I think someone just deleted all records of it. Dream Focus 01:07, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • I never posted to the list wikia. There's no conspiracy to cover up any edits there. Why don't you guys get off my talk page, and go back to insisting that everything is notable... unless of course it has to do with icky, yucky sex. AniMate 01:46, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think insulting us, as you seem to do whenever you get the chance, is helping at all. And, for your information, the pornography related discussion has nothing to do with the ARS, as we all have different, varying opinions on it as editors, if you cared to notice. Not at all![edit]

I'm glad there's some folks out there who are willing to reverse a wrong administrative decision. Thanks for the heads-up.  :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 23:28, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User talk:CloudKade11[edit]

Just figured I'd give you a heads up on this editor. He or she has uploaded soap opera images on a massive scale; I'm pretty sure that all of these images are without fair-use rationales and proper licenses, and the two that I did look at and revert were not the best images to represent the subjects. I left a message on his or her talk page. I would alert TAnthony, but he is not around much these days. Flyer22 (talk) 19:16, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't mean to ignore this, but when it comes to images I'm pretty useless. AniMate 08:24, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
LOL. This is simple, though. This user is uploading images without fair-use rationales and proper licensing (in fact, the licensing is a lie, and this editor is doing it for some articles on real people). If he or she continues to do this, even with having been warned about it, it is against Wikipedia policy and he or she can be blocked. I just saw that I have another editor helping out in reverting this editor, and one person even registered just to revert him or her on the Téa Delgado article. I have given CloudKade11 another warning; hopefully, he or she will listen, or I will have to report this. Flyer22 (talk) 17:19, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted comments in Talk:dministrator abuse in Wikipedia[edit]

I deleted a duplicate comment of my own in that talk page. If I deleted comments, it was by mistake. I will check and fix. My apologies.

Indeed I recall having had some problem with that edit (navigated out of the edit page, thenback again, was not sure what state it was in, saved, and result seemed OK.) Sorry. Yes I will be more careful. All the best, --Jorge Stolfi (talk) 23:58, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The return of GoRight?[edit]

A few months ago, you commented on the indefinite blocking of User:GoRight following this AN/I discussion. A newly created account, User:TheNeutralityDoctor, has been reported to WP:SPI as a possible sockpuppet of GoRight, based on behavioural evidence. Your views would be welcomed at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/GoRight. -- ChrisO (talk) 08:48, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gabi Hernandez[edit]

She's just confirmed two suspected socks, as hers. One needs blocking and both should have their templates tweaked to 'confirmed'. Get to work ;)

She's going to do the Wikia route for six months and we'll be revisiting this next year. I believe she's going to abide by what she's saying.

Work completed. Could you take a look at a conversation I'm having at Talk:Paige Matthews. I've sent a bunch of what I consider to be decorative images to WP:IfD and am having a hard time wrapping my head around the arguments made by an editor opposed to their deletion. Her grasp of what the term minimal usage means in regards to WP:NFCC is perplexing and a little nonsensical. Since you have done some work on File:Rose-mcgowan-paige.jpg perhaps you can help explain or enlighten me as to why my arguments are wrong. AniMate 22:46, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks; she's created a Wikia account. I peeked at the img issue and your arguments are way... spot-on. I'll look a bit further and at the Ifd discussions. Cheers, Jack Merridew 05:40, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Paige Matthews

Hi. I dipped an oar in all this; teh usual pages. See this edit, my last. This moves most of the refs together at the bottom so that they're not cluttering up the prose with full templates at random spots and replaces them with named refs such as are typically used for subsequent refs. More significantly, for this case, I've broken the fake-refs to our own episode articles into their own group, which shows how few real refs the page has. The pattern of bogus references is common out there and exists in the other character articles for this lame show. I hope you like this mechanism and will support its use. Cheers, Jack Merridew 03:23, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Took a look at that and I love it. I like separating out the primary sources here. Well done. AniMate 18:39, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help[edit]

Hello, User:AugustAugust moved a page from Nicole Walker to Nicole DiMera. Per WP:COMMONNAMES, it should be Walker. The user has already been warned about doing so, but when I try to revert the change, it won't let me. Am I doing something wrong? Also, FYI, I saw this because User:Gabi Hernandez posted it on her talkpage. I'm not trying to edit for her, obviously, but that DOES need to be changed back. Any assistance you could give would be most appreciated! Hope you are well. Rm994 (talk) 03:44, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nicole DiMera[edit]

I have an inquiry: Wouldn't it make sense to keep it as Nicole DiMera, considering the Kate Roberts article was changes to Kate DiMera. I mean, in the fictional universe, Nicole divorced EJ and still goes by DiMera, although it isn't her historic name. I'm just curious.Bmf777 (talk) 20:42, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Common names applies to both articles. AniMate 21:21, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User:SenorFreebie's Nazi statement[edit]

Hi dude. Thank you for the kind words of support on AN/I. I very much appreciate that. But I need to share my feelings with you on this here which is disturbing. I'm sorry dude but I can't accept what User:Senor Freebie said. I'm very tolerant with everybody, including those who oppose my political views, but you probably already know that. But one word I can't accept is Nazi. It's one of the most offensive things to call another human being. Please forgive me man but I needed to be as clear as possible. I just can't understand why SenorFreebie is given a free pass to post the most repulsive post I've seen from a MILHIST member, by calling another human being a Nazi on wiki, without any admin intervention? It makes no sense. Why AniMate? Why? Please explain it to me because I don't understand. My great-grandfather died during WWII. Millions of innocents died at the hands of Nazis. Yet he gets to throw this word around like it's nothing? Dude, his post bothers me, it bothers me too much. It's offensive and disgusting. Why does he get a free pass for this type of behavior? I just can't understand. Isn't it a violation of CIV, NPA, AGF? It's wrong. So wrong man. Please, I need your feedback on this because none of it makes sense to me. You're one of the few good admins who have always been fair and honest with me, even when I disagreed with you in the past. Nevertheless, I respect your opinion, as always. Thanks.
