CoffeeCup Software[edit]

A tag has been placed on CoffeeCup Software, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Gavin Collins 22:50, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, BarkingFish/Archives, welcome to WikiProject LGBT Studies!

We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles of interest to the LGBT community. Some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve LGBT-related articles, so if someone asks for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
  • Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, peer review and a project-wide article collaboration, all of which you are welcome to take part in. We also have a unique program to improve our lower quality articles, Jumpaclass, so please consider signing up there.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign LGBT topics.
  • If you're planning to stay, have a square in our quilt! You can put anything you want in it.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome!

Edit to your page[edit]

I just edited your user page and user talk page and changed the link to that menu I made. Just wanted to let you know, as it's going to tell you that you have a new message. I had moved the template a while ago, and now I'm cleaning up the redirects in my user space. —Andrew Hampe Talk 00:01, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Chairboy. I wanted to seek your advice about something concerning the above page. Naconkantari has made it perfectly clear that (s)he will not be editing Wikipedia anymore. I previously had left a note on Nacon's user talk page that (s)he was on long wikibreak and would be back when ready. Now that they have left with the intention of not coming back, I was going to leave a {{retired}} on the userpage, but noticed it was last deleted by You on 1st July this year. Could I please seek your permission and/or advice with regards to marking Naconkantari as retired, so that I do not breach the rules regarding recreation of deleted pages. Thanks. Thor Malmjursson 12:19, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's no reason to have a retired tag, and considering that the last act of the user was to delete his own page, it's obvious that he does not want one. Please see m:Right to vanish, it is obviously the user's wish that the page not exist, and that Wikimedia policy establishes the precedent that this is allowed. - CHAIRBOY () 12:45, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive[edit]

A new elimination drive of the backlog at Wikipedia:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.

You have received this message either due to your membership with WikiProject: Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. --Nehrams2020 03:48, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ely Cathedral[edit]

Yes, but you could leave at least the image pattern!!! Now it's a disaster!!! Anyway, I think those titles are very silly and unencyclopedical. --Attilios 14:26, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Flying Bark Animation[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Flying Bark Animation, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Unspecified source for Image:Astro_boy.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Astro_boy.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:46, 14 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 10:46, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thor, i'm willing to help make a list of episodes as they air, but no one has replied on the Talk:List of Skunk Fu Episodes, i just need a little help on making a table for the episodes.--Lerdthenerd 13:09, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for deleting the talk page - I deleted it because I had just deleted its article (List of Skunk Fu Episodes) (log) and therefore deleted the talk page under CSD G8 (log). CSD G8 is for talk pages without associated articles to be deleted, so generally talk pages need the article to exist. Since you're going to create the article anyway, I'll restore the talk page for you and leave a note for administrators to leave it be while you create the list - we can ignore the rules to help you out in this case :) . Howdy. I actually work on this show. but i'm a new wikipedian so at the moment i'm hopeless at editing. if you're looking for info about the show and companys (especially cartoon saloon) i'll probably be able to find it out for you. i doubt if much of it exists on the internet so you might not be able to reverence in the article. as i get better at this wiki lark i'll start editing more and more myself. Skunk Fu (List) Error[edit]

I'm running Firefox on Mac OS X. The bug still occurs but this page that I initially see (the bug, before getting to the actual updated page) has changed, the table now has an synopsis column, suggesting that it might have somehow been edited. Quite confusing - I added the table myself (which worked fine), but subsequent edits did not appear except by clicking 'discussion' and then 'article' again. If you need any further info, just drop me a message or leave a comment in the discussion in the Skunk Fu list, as I'm watching it. MathiasFox 15:13, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info Mathias. I consider that it may be something to do with your browser - have you for example, done things like clear your cache of stored pages? I know when I used to use Firefox on Linux (my home system), a lot of pages on Wiki used to look a little bogged up. IIRC, I am pretty sure you can get IE for Mac if you are running OS X. Have you tried getting this and seeing whether it makes a difference? I must admit, I know practically (censored) all about Macs, since the first (and only) one I had went out of my apartment window 6 days after I got it. It might be worth looking into clearing your cache, so that you see the new pages first, instead of the cached versions. You have told me everything I need to know, so let me know how you get on! hi its Lerd ive already posted this on skunk fu! (list) talk page but i'll post it again here. i'm using windows xp (home version)my browser version is internet explorer 7, basically the bug shrinks the table and deletes its contents, but it goes back to normal when i go back to the article from this (skunk fu! list of episodes) talk page--Lerdthenerd 16:40, 29 July 2007 (UTC) 16:39, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Basepagename messing up code?[edit]

Re [1], how is it causing problems? -- Jeandré, 2007-08-08t21:23z

Re [2] The basepagename was intentional, it personalizes the user box when placed on a user page, instead of the clunky "This user". I've reverted the template, see what it looks like user pages: User:Jeandré du Toit. -- Jeandré, 2007-08-10t09:02z
