Hi Bart. Welcome to Wikipedia. Please continue to contribute. You might be interested in WikiProject Australia and WikiProject V8 Supercars. Please also remember that Wikipedia attempts to provide references for its information - read Reliable sources and Citing sources to learn how. I noticed that one of your V8 dirver edits said "It has been confirmed that..." without referencing how it was confirmed. Sorry this sounds like a lot of rules, but it makes Wikipedia more reliable for readers. Thanks for reading this, and I hope you'll continue to contribute. --Scott Davis Talk 02:22, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries[edit]

Please make sure that you include a descriptive edit summary with any edit, even one that you deem to be minor, to assist other editors and admins in checking diffs. It is particularly helpful when pages are still in development by their primary contributor. [1], Cheers, Esradekan 10:33, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I've reverted your addition of 'Finnish' to the F1 infobox on Rosberg's page. The reason is that the infobox is for his F1 career details and he races as a German in F1, and not as a 'German/Finn'. If we had an infobox for some of the lower formulae where he did race for Finland, then 'Finnish' would appear that. Incidentally, have you come across a reference for Rosberg having Finnish nationality? It seems to be 'common knowledge', but I haven't actually been able to find a source that says he has Finnish nationality, as opposed to a Finnish father. Cheers. 4u1e 09:47, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Should a partial 2008 line-up appear on a template titled Teams contesting 2007 series? If it is to be started with 2008 driver listings then perhaps only those drivers who have been confirmed for 2008 and leave all others TBA. For example it has not been confirmed that Paul Morris will partner Ingall at Team Sirromet. Simon Wills will not be starting at BJR, I guess I'm suggesting all 2007 or all 2008. --Falcadore (talk) 08:53, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tony D'Alberto and the GMAC team taking over from Independant Race Cars was confirmed some time back. They will probably use the #99 race number too. Dean Canto notably is NOT confirmed by GRM, and may not have a seat for 2008. Supercheap Auto Racing will only be used for Ingall's car (and probably be numbered #0 not #39 but the number is unconfirmed) with Morris continuing to use the #67 to promote the family businesses. Source, the current shelf edition of Motorsport News and earlier editions. --Falcadore (talk) 00:16, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted your edit on this article as I was writing an Andrew Thompson article so the link was valid, and also the Fujitsu series link points to the article on the Fujitsu series instead of an article about the series sponsor, which I feel is less relevant. Hope you are not offended --Falcadore (talk) 10:45, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

V8 Supercar images[edit]

Hi Bart-16. I reverted your edit to the V8 Supercars article where you removed the photos of the cars. I know they're a little out of date (especially the 2003 photo of Tod Kelly's car) but the idea was that they show the casual reader (readers that may never have seen V8 Supercars) what the cars look like. Previously, there was only a photo of a safety car. I think an out of date pic of a V8 Supercar tells the casual reader more than an out of date pic of a safety car.

If you have a look at some other motor sport articles (like F1) you'll fined photos of varying ages. I think it's OK provided the caption clearly indicates the photo's age.

I'm in the process of trying to get more recent photo's from a professional photographer I met online. When that happens I'll update the article. --Fruv (talk) 23:22, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

V8 supercar teams[edit]

Britek Motorsport no longer exists. The staff have moved to other teams, Bright has moved to Queensland to rejoin Stone Brothers. His Britek BF will be replaced by a Stones FG early in the season, how can we call it a Britek entry? Please merge it back into SBR. --Falcadore (talk) 23:31, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

and additionally there are now too many teams on the centre row, unbalancing the template. I'll not adjust because for the moment the temptation is just to revert that lot and that could lead to an edit war. --Falcadore (talk) 03:16, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Plus Rod Nash Racing doesn't exist anymore either, and hasn't for a few years. Tony D'Alberto Racing is the team running the #55 Commodore, and IRCA before them, effectively leasing the Rod Nash franchise. Only it's not a lease, because leases can only be used temporarily before the franchise is reclaimed by VESA, like what happenned to the old #24 Romano Racing franchise. The list should reflect the reality of the situation, rather than the false front. --Falcadore (talk) 11:24, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Have found a source detailing the relationship between Tony D'Alberto Racing and Rod Nash Racing and have actioned accordingly. --Falcadore (talk) 10:13, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dean Fiore[edit]

After your feedback, since you have strong opinions on team ownership. Motorsport E-News yesterday stated that Dean Fiore will be driving the 021 Commodore this weekend, however because of the ownership wrangle over Team Kiwi Racing before the New Zealand courts, Paul Morris Motorsport will be running the car entirely themselves (presumably why Fiore is driving not Reid, but that is my speculation). The car is believed to be still in the Team Kiwi signage from the Qld Raceway test. The short version is, the the car while looking like TKR, will not actually be TKR, and will be effectively a third PMM car without the Supercheap branding. It's probable that there will be no official press release from either team as the car is not really representing either team. Under those circumstances it seems most likely to add it to the PMM entry in the template and 2009 season article, at least until ownership of TKR, or its VESA franchise, is confirmed.

Your opinion? --Falcadore (talk) 02:57, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't said David John is not the owner of Team Kiwi, merely that according to the articles I've referenced, John himself is bankrupt and team accountant McDonald is now the guy running Team Kiwi and until the mess is sorted, Paul Morris Motorsport is operating the #021 entry on Team Kiwi's behalf. This sort of thing has happened often before, Britek on numerous occasions has lent out its then second #26 franchise, most memrobly to Mark Porter's MSport tem for a Pukekohe round, Paul Morris's #39 franchise was operated post Bathurst one year by Perkins Motorsport for young Perkins and Price, and after Team Kiwi's dreadful accident a few years back where their Commodore was destroyed a number of teams operated the #021 franchise, including Tony Evangelou's ANT Racing Fujitsu team at Phillip Island. Plenty of precedent. --Falcadore (talk) 22:56, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
