Dear Colin, I just wanted to thank you for your vote and constructive comments regarding the article IPA2. I wish you success and all the best. -DrMoslehi 22 September 2006, 03:47 (UTC+3:30)

Dear Colin,
I really did not get the impression you had wanted to keep my article and soothe my feeling, etc. I just thanked for the time you spent giving your opinion (to contribute to Wikipedia) and the instructions you gave (to guide others how to contribute). In case of Shashank, I just thanked to be grateful and when I used 'fan-style' I used the exact description. I did not give my opinion on whether showing fan-style support is good or bad (although you might think it as a kind of confirmation which in this case I really did not mean). -DrMoslehi 26 September 2006, 04:08 (UTC+3:30)

Co-op: Mentor profiles and final pilot prep[edit]

CO-OP Logo 2.png

Hey mentors, two announcements:

  1. You can now make your profile at The Co-op! Please set up your mentor profile here as soon as you are able, as the pilot begins on March 4th. It isn't very involved and should only take a minute. If you need more info about what the different skills mean (e.g. writing, communication), please refer to these descriptions.
  2. Profile creation, invitations, and automated matching of editors, profile creation, that will be coordinated through HostBot and a few gadgets may not be ready for our pilot, and will have to be done manually until they are ready. In preparation for the pilot, please read over these instructions on how we will be manually performing these tasks until the automated components are ready. I, JethroBT drop me a line on behalf of Wikipedia:Co-op.

Thanks a lot Colin, very clear and straightforward. I think I can get an article underway and I understand that it will get some scrutiny, which I appreciate.Imamoca (talk) 14:17, 23 March 2015 (UTC)

Hepworth edit-a-thon[edit]

Hi Colin, Sorry you can't join us on the day. It'd be great if an experienced editor such as yourself could participate remotely or look through some of the articles in advance/afterwards. Would you be interested in other subjects related to Yorkshire's museums and galleries? If there's anything such institutions might do to help your editing let me know! Cheers, PatHadley (talk) 16:57, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for all your help in getting me started on Wikipedia, you totally deserve this, and I am surprised you don't have more of these cluttering up your talk space. You have done a ton on Wikipedia, and are so humble about it, which is really cool. Keep up the great work!😊BluJay (talk) 02:08, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Thank you Sir[edit]

Sir, the book i referred to write Shri Gurukul Peeth is a relevant one, i have the original book, how can i make it prove as a reliable source to wiki? Ankush 89 (talk) 08:27, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

Hello, Ankush 89. My problem is that I don't see enough information about the book that I can tell whether it looks reliable: you haven't clearly indicated either the publisher or the date of publication. This is important because it makes a big difference to the reliability if it was published by a major publisher with a known reputation, or (at the other extreme) if it was published by the author. It is also important to know if it was published by a general publisher or by an organisation connected with the temple: in the latter case, it may be reliable, but is not an independent source. The date is important because it can make a huge difference to reliability if a book was published in (say) 1856, 1906, 1956, or 2006. I suggest using a citation template such as {{cite book}}: this is not required, but it helps to make citations consistent. --ColinFine (talk) 11:31, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

Sir, I have improved the citation as per your guidance Ankush 89 (talk) 13:50, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

Any Wikipedia Meets in India[edit]

Are any wikipedia meets conducted in asian nations or India specifically?

Ankush 89 (talk) 13:47, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

I have no idea, Ankush 89. I have never been to India, and I have never (so far) been to a Wikipedia meetup. They seem to be organised by language: please see m:Meetup. --ColinFine (talk) 16:31, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

Good reply[edit]

Good reply at WP:HD: It's clear, helpful and respectful to both posters. — Sebastian 18:03, 29 March 2015 (UTC)
