Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 21:49, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 14[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Crystal Gayle, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Talking in Your Sleep. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:01, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

April 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm FlightTime. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Bobbie Gentry, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! - FlightTime (open channel) 19:03, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at John Houseman. Stop adding the "known for" parameter and listing trivially important roles. Binksternet (talk) 13:53, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Known for" parameter[edit]

Hi Dannyzk. I noticed that you've been adding songs and albums to the "Known for" parameter in infoboxes to a lot of biographies. Aside from the fact that such lists are very arbitrary, the known_for parameter is supposed to contain a "brief description of what the person is notable for" (not a list of works), according to Template:Infobox person. I hope you don't mind but I'm removing the songs and albums from those infoboxes. Cheers. Wes sideman (talk) 12:59, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I notice you're continuing to do this, and have now been reverted by Binksternet (talk) as well as myself. Please stop. Wes sideman (talk) 14:46, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Certainly you must stop adding the parameter "known for" when the person has an extensive career with many highlights. Also, nationality should not be added unless it is surprising, for instance if they were born in one country but hold nationality of a different country. And the education/alma mater parameters should only list institutes of higher learning, not childhood schools or academies. Binksternet (talk) 15:21, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Binksternet: this account is continuing to do the same things without responding on this talk page. What's the next step to stopping repeated disruptions like these? Wes sideman (talk) 12:13, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dannyzk has been uncommunicative during a dispute, which is a recipe for getting blocked. I will alert admins at WP:ANI a bit later today when I have time. Binksternet (talk) 13:54, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

June 2023[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Bob Barker, you may be blocked from editing. You are continuing to make poor edits to the "Known for" portion of the infobox despite repeated attempts to get you to stop. DonIago (talk) 19:55, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
