American Dad! reversed edits

I noticed that you had reversed my edits on the American Dad! pages. I honestly think mine are the best shot because the American Dad episode order are getting really shitty. Adding the three unaired episodes to season ten may be the best way to go, rather than making them count as a new three episode Season 11, and TBS being Season 12 as most press releases and sources say it is Season 11. Being honest, I think you should change the pages back to mine or someone else should just go back and fix every season. I ain't trying to sound like a bitch, but the episode list really needs to be changed back or fixed up. What are your thoughts? Spongey253 (talk) 15:01, 26 July 2014 (UTC)Spongey253

There's an ongoing discussion regarding this at Talk:American Dad!#Season 11 & season 12 dispute and I encourage you to read the points made there - but it's still not resolved, so I don't know what's going to happen from here. In any event, I agree this whole situation is a clusterfuck, though. Davejohnsan (talk) 15:04, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

American Dad! editing dispute

I have turned the discussion at Talk:American Dad!#Season 11 & season 12 dispute over to the Dispute Resolution NoticeBoard as User:Wattlebird doesn't seem to think consensus and opposition against him is satisfactory, resulting in his continued reversions and edit warring. Dispute Resolution Noticeboard rules indicate that I'm to inform all editors involved in the discussion of my submission in case they would like to provide input. If you you would like to provide your input regarding the edit under dispute, that be much appreciated. The Dispute Noticeboard Discussion is here Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard#Talk:American Dad!#Season 11 & season 12 dispute. Cheers! AmericanDad86 (talk) 00:05, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

@AmericanDad86: Thank you for notifying me. I don't suppose you'd be willing to answer me a couple questions, would you? Davejohnsan (talk) 15:06, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
You're very welcome. And sure, shoot. I won't be able to answer your question or questions until later on today, however as I have to scoot to work right now. However, I will answer them as soon as possible.
Also, I was surprised on your stance on the issue. I know you're the 1 user who seems to agree with Wattlebird against the rest of us. I was quite surprised. I thought it was rather cut and dried that his position was absurd. Everyone I've brought the 3 microseason stuff up to off-site has said that this is utter nonsense. However, I've taken him a little bit more seriously since I do respect your opinion. AmericanDad86 (talk) 15:16, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
I'm running short on time, as well. However, I would really like to continue this conversation later. Davejohnsan (talk) 15:34, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

---

Okay, so I guess I have a little more time than I thought, and I really only have question - and if you don't mind, I'd like to keep this conversation as peaceful as possible, so let's leave behind that clusterfuck of a dispute and just have a one-on-one here.

To make my stance on the issue clear, I definitely agree that the September 14 broadcast marks the beginning of a new season. However, given Fox's ambiguous wording of the third episode (labeled simply as the "final FOX episode" rather than as the "season finale"), there are a number of possibilities here, and mine is that it's entirely possible that Fox is beginning season 11 and leaving TBS to finish it to publicize the now long-forgotten inter-network transition. Given the lack of a definitive official stance from either network, the best way to address this, in my opinion, is simply to revisit this issue when Fox and TBS get off their asses and take a stand.

My question to you is will you please take a stance on whether the upcoming three episodes are the end of season 10 or the beginning of season 11, regardless of how Fox and TBS treat season 11 after September 21? Davejohnsan (talk) 15:46, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

Agreed! TBS and particularly FOX are a real piss off. To date, I've received absolutely no e-mails from the FOX staff member I e-mailed and Fox Flash has yet to clarify the report. So I don't think the networks (at least Fox) could give a flying fuck about this show. I think a mistaken Fox staff member could label it as being season 5000 and it wouldn't be an issue with them.
To answer your question, however, I think it's the end of season 10. I'm in agreement with user Koala15 that season 10 was supposed to be 23 episodes, so they just held it off. They've done that before.
I don't know how wise it is to take every little wording Fox writes so literally. If you recall, Fox misreported Lost in Space (American Dad!) as episode 150 and American Dad! article regulars like you, Koala and myself had to make a bunch of edits clarifying Fox's botching of the episode numbering order. I think having the three episodes represent the beginning of season 11 is a bit awkward. That said, it makes more sense to me personally than the three episodes being their own season
All I know is if we make these three episodes their very own separate micro-season and then there's YET another season discrepancy for this series, the article regulars like you, me and Koala15 are just going to have that much more work to do here at Wikipedia, making constant reversions to editors who disagree. Wattlebird IS NOT a regular at that article based on his editing history and isn't as knowledgeable of what goes on there as we are. He has NOT invested the same time and effort as editors like you, me and Koala15 have with this article. Not trying to make light of the editor, but I doubt he understands how annoying it is to CONTINUOUSLY go back and revert different editors who have disagreements on season numbering discrepancies. It's irritating, taxing and Wattlebird's desired edit would be inviting even more of that.
Like I said, there's already the heavily disputed discrepancy as to the first season. I was able to help simmer that heated debate down by coming up with the idea to just make note of the discrepancy in the article so that both sides of the coin could at least be communicated in some way. Despite that, arguments as to the first season still sometimes rear their ugly head as you can see even in this debate. And now we're having to discuss that all over again ALONG WITH a new discrepancy thanks to Wattlebird. All I know is that I'm bowing out of helping out with this article if it gets to the point that there's yet ANOTHER discrepancy and THAT MANY MORE editors to constantly revert.
I really am just very tired of how much work I put in over there and the lack of respect I get for it. AmericanDad86 (talk) 17:17, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
@AmericanDad86: Is the dispute board going to get to your complaint any time soon? Davejohnsan (talk) 16:42, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
Eye roll! You know how Wikipedia runs. We'll be lucky if that complaint is addressed to any extent by this time next year. lol! Do you think I should press the issue? I rather do it only if I have another voice like yours. If you think we should press the issue, I'm on board. Let me know your feelings. AmericanDad86 (talk) 21:17, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
I don't know, maybe just press the issue lightly and ask on the progress. The decision is yours, though. Davejohnsan (talk) 15
53, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
I added a comment to the dispute resolution board. Hopefully that speeds things along. AmericanDad86 (talk) 12:27, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
In the meantime, we can still continue the discussion, which by now is probably the longest thread I've ever seen on this site. Davejohnsan (talk) 14:45, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

your comments would be appreciated

Hi, your comments on the appropriateness of the following edits would be apprecisted.[1][2] I've made comments at the responsible editor's talk page. The discussion is here. --AussieLegend () 18:09, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

I'll take a look later. Wasn't he warned previously about this? Davejohnsan (talk) 21:35, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
Yes, he has been warned several times. --AussieLegend () 02:23, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
I'm not sure that you need me here. I honestly couldn't agree with you more here. Davejohnsan (talk) 03:44, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
I was really just after an opinion from another editor. Too many of our newer editors want to argue consistently rather than just accept advice given in good faith, and that particular editor prefers to edit-war. After I warned him on his talk page to talk rather than revert, he posted an apology on my page and then, a few hours later, apparently forgot and reverted at List of Hawaii Five-0 episodes. Thanks for your help. --AussieLegend () 04:10, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
Okay. I can't think really think of what more there is to say other than that you have my full support, but I'll chime in at some point and say something to StewieBaby when I think of something. Honestly, what also bothers me is the half-assed apologies some of these editors have made. That NCIS editor did the same thing, I think. If you're going to be disruptive, at least don't make insincere apologies for it! Davejohnsan (talk) 13:59, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Re: Married... with Children edits

@Davejohnsan: Replace them with what?! I was previously called out for inserting these types of links to commercial sites like Amazon.com as they are apparently not allowed on Wikipedia. The GateKeeper07 (talk)

By whom? I'm not aware of any policy forbidding links to Amazon for verifying a DVD release. Davejohnsan (talk) 01:15, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

Vote on to KEEP or CHANGE American Dad's episode guide.

Hey there, us over at the American Dad! talk page are considering are deciding if we should KEEP the longer-season number (in which Season 11 would be the "three episodes" and TBS's season would be Season 12) or CHANGING to the fewer-season method (in which Season 10 is the three episodes and Season 11 is the TBS season). L&O Universe

Hey Dave,

I'm currently working on a project, and was wondering if you'd like to partake in it, help out. It's regarding the Law & Order universe - not the franchise per se, but rather the setting, ie. Manhattan DA's office (where, when, why, who etc.)

There are dozens of articles on fictional places of different works - see Category:Fictional_universes. Although places depicted in L&O are not entirely ficional (ie. DA's office, SVU etc.) - they are fictionalised (ie. personnel, duties etc.)

Furthermore, there is resources at our disposal - from episodes to books, and other secondary sources.

Timing is just the issue, as there is a lot to cover.

Your opinion is very much warranted, please feel free to edit this should you be interested.

Kind regards, —MelbourneStartalk 06:14, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

My email's ralphaelturtle@yahoo.com

Since you were editing information on [SVU season 4], I'm wondering if you would be willingly to communicate with me on email becuz those Episodes just won't leave me alone? I'm unable to Understand those Events. I have too many episodes on DVR. I need your help please? Do you have free access to every SVU season on DVD or DVR or computer? Do you have Chance to Email today?(50.173.3.162 (talk) 18:07, 15 December 2014 (UTC)).

Seriously? You're still fixated on this topic? Davejohnsan (talk) 04:20, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

Those dumb sad fictional episodes just won't leave my body alone, ok man. Are you willing to help me? Yes or No(50.173.3.162 (talk) 04:25, 16 December 2014 (UTC)).

No. You have an unhealthy obsession with the inconsequential details of each episode's plot, and every time I explain what's wrong with the edits you make (namely the stuff found in Wikipedia's MoS, you always seem to disregard it. Please explain to me how "communicating" with you regarding these episodes is going to improve anything, because I just don't see it. Plot summaries are supposed to be kept simple, and this is a concept that seems to keep eluding you. Davejohnsan (talk) 04:56, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

I just saw that you have reverted my edits on Roseanne. I thought that tv-series that have ended should be in past tense and not present. Please consider helping non-English-language Wikimedia communities to stay updated about the Wikimedia blog's most notable posts from January, covering Wikimedia Foundation activities, MediaWiki development work and other international Wikimedia news. Completed translations will be announced on Facebook, Twitter, project village pumps and (for some languages) mailing lists. If you have questions about the translation notifications system, ask them here. You can manage your subscription here

Your help is greatly appreciated. Translators like you help Meta to function as a truly multilingual community.

Thank you!
