Hi, welcome to Wikipedia. UTC is the modern name for Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Eastern time is five hours behind UTC this time of year, and four hours behind in summer. A useful link worth bookmarking is current local times around the world. When editing, just put a string of four tildes (~) to sign and the timestamp is automatically included. The Humungous Image Tagging Project

Hi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. Wikipedia, GNU and Everything

Yeah, well that...sucks, doesn't it? Many other sites have banners and such and they essentially make money from reposting others' hard-earned info. Personally, I feel that the laxity of the GNU licensing system is what keeps Wikipedia from gaining a more authoritative status. If, at least, there was differentiation between freely contributing and taking wholesale articles, Wikipedia would gain a higher status as a reference work. *shrug* But it all seems to be "all or nothing" in the crazy, crazy world of open-source. ;) NeoThe1 02:29, Dec 30, 2004 (UTC)

407 ETR and ANPR

Thanks for you entry at talk:407 ETR about Automatic number plate recognition. Because you linked to the ANPR article I found out about the 407 ETR (using "What links here" in the toolbox) – that gave me scope to make a great addition to the ANPR article that I created and have been working on for the last few days. Rating stars

I noticed you have been replacing written-out 10-scale ratings (eg "(9/10)") with the star template, but from what I remember the last time this was brought up on the WikiProject Albums talk page there were a number of people opposed to this, and nobody really in favor, so I was wondering if I missed some newer discussion about this...? --Fritz S. No you didn't miss any discussion. I didn't know there had been a discussion regarding using the rating-10 template and had made the assumption that a note about *not* using the template would have been placed in the talk page for the template Template_talk:Rating-10. I was replacing the text as there seemed to be inconsistences in what people were using. Be it "(9/10)", "9 stars out of 10", "9.0/10.0", "90%", "9 out of 10", etc. I was also basing my changes on Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albums#Professional_reviews. Upon re-reading, it doesn't that I shouldn't be converting numbers into stars (specifically the ten ones), but it also doesn't state a preference for either one. I've stopped making any further changes. Greba 23:05, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

First time using WP:AWB and I didn't realize how many edits I had actually made. Upon further research, I've found Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Albums/Stars has a discussion that would have been nice to know about before I started. Pinecrest Public School

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Pinecrest Public School, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
