The or the Band[edit]

Please read Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Music#Names (definite article) which says to use lower case the for band names in running prose. The implementation of this rule was discussed for months, using the Beatles as the example, and the result was a streamlining of Wikipedia style to match that of some respected UK publications and also the Chicago Manual of Style. My addition edit meets two of the stated requirements of the page, and your edit goes against one of them.

-They are musicians with long careers who have a history of faithful Gibson use.

-The particular instrument they used was unique or of historical importance.

Having your own signature model counts to most people as a "unique" instrument. Gibson Guitars feels she is significant and notable enough to use her name and likeness to promote their instruments, and she has been endorsed by them for quite some time. "Having a signature model doesn't make the person a notable user"... that actually does mean you're notable, especially in the eyes of the company. That's a very dismissive statement and comes across as your personal feelings deeming an established Gibson artist is "not worthy" to be included on this list. Dozens of other artists are listed on this page without much more than a note that they also have a signature model. While they may have a longer history, Halestorm is an established, successful band with verifiable ties to Gibson Guitars. I might not be an expert editor on here, but I fail to see how this artist does not merit being on this list. Jamrhein71 (talk) 17:20, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
