Edit warring[edit]

In these two edits [1][2] you restored comments that were removed by editors after a brief discussion at the talk page, and you didn't provide any rationale for why you are restoring them. If you didn't already know, there is a discussion at Talk:July 2009 Ürümqi riots#Spoiled like pandas? about this stuff. 		Thanks for all your work maintaining the article July 2009 Ürümqi riots during its time on the main page. This has been a difficult and thankless task, working at a frenetic pace for 4 days straight so far (I, for one, have been getting very little sleep), and it's only been thanks to coordinated efforts and discussion from numerous editors that the article has been kept as neutral and informative as possible. This is the most collaboration I've done, with the largest number of editors once, since I have joined Wikipedia, and I think the results are showing; while it's not perfect, when my friends and family ask me about what's going on in Urumqi, I have been more comfortable recommending this article than any other source. The work is far from over, but now that this article is off the main page I think it's finally time to thank the editors Seb az86556, Colipon, Jim101, Ohconfucius, Benlisquare, Simonm223, and Jinhuili for all their contributions; while we had disagreements, I think each of these editors has been particularly active and has made real efforts to improve the article.rʨanaɢ ^talk/_contribs 20:11, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jinhuili: I know we have not agreed over many things on this article (I'm not sure if we've agreed on anything at all), but like I said at my talk page, it is clear that you have the article's best interests in mind and are working to improve the article just as the rest of us are. Thanks. I believe we can at least agree that we cannot agree everything. Actually, I learnt a lot and thought a lot during these days. As human being with different backgrounds and cultures, it's even hard to define what is neural. For example, one article that support Chinese government's policy to pardon the minority people for criminal charges says, because of culture difference, raping should not be punished by law for some minorities, the reason is according to their culture, it's not criminal or can be settle by other means. It's bullshit. But I learnt the differences from it. Anyway, I believe Wikipedia is good place to find the balance. --Jinhuili (talk) 17:33, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2014 Kunming attack[edit]

Hi there, I'm writing to you because of your past involvement with the Urumqi riots in 2009. There was a major knife attack in Kunming. Death toll somewhere between 29 and 34, about 140 injuries as of most recent reports. It's looking likely that the attack is associated with the Uyghur independence movement although the situation is obviously cloudy. Editors with experience working on Han / Uyghur conflict would be appreciated to make sure we stick to WP:RS and avoid WP:RECENTISM while this situation unfolds.
