Welcome[edit]

Hello, Kar21nas4, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits to the page Barbara Cleverly have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may be removed if they have not yet been. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. As well, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source. The article has little biographocal content and reads like a promotion peice for her books. Bookseller listings are not suitable as references. If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. June 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. You are welcome to submit genuine biographies. They must however wholly comply with our policy at WP:AUTHOR. If not, the pages will be deleted. Please do not use Wikipedia articles as a vehicle for promoting books published by the Soho group. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 16:25, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Barbara Cleverly. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. 2nd request. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 16:32, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Barbara Cleverly, you may be blocked from editing. 3rd request - now a warning Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 17:01, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning; the next time you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising, as you did at Barbara Cleverly, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 17:46, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits and page creations[edit]

I think you may not be entirely sure about the way the Wikipedia works, so rather than blocking you from editing, I would like to take this opportunity to point out some core policies that might help you understand why we tag, redact, and even delete articles. We decide at Wikipedia what sources are considered credible, and a full description of allowable sources can be found at WP:RS. Primary sources such as the subject's own website, or the websites of their publisher, agent, employer, and any sources such as social media they can populate themselves are clearly not acceptable. Having published one or even a dozen books does not necessarily confer notability, while winning a truly notable award such as a Nobel, a Pulitzer, a Gold Dagger, or a Booker Prize will almost certainly guarantee an entry in the encyclopedia. Charting high in an important bestseller list will help, but it is about the book and not about the author. All books get reviewed, so a literary review even in an established newspaper will not assert automatic notability either for a Wikipedia article about the author or about the book. Blogs and reseller listings, reviews and summaries are practically never acceptable for any subject.
It will also help if your editing demonstrated much less of an apparently obvious attempt to promote the authors published by Soho (itself not necessarily sufficiently notable for an encyclopedia entry). Continuing to do so, and reverting administrative corrections and tags to articles your have created will ultimately result in you being blocked from editing the Wikipedia, while the articles will be deleted for lack of either notability or proper referencing. I hope I have been able to clarify these issues for you, and if you need any further help or advice, please don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. The article Henry Chang has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

One isolated interview in the NYT does not a notable author make per WP:AUTHOR

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nomination of Soho Press for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Soho Press is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Soho Press until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Night of the Big Wind (talk) 00:46, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Soho logoHQ.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Soho logoHQ.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:05, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
