Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is

My Public IPv4 is: 50.47.106.60

My Public IPv6 is: 2001:470:ebe3:0:6679:f0ff:fe57:6390

My IP Location is: Kirkland, WA US

My ISP is: Ziply Fiber

Is this someone's idea of a joke? Seriously. This is not an anonymous account, I edit occasionally. Yes, it is an IPv6 address from "HURRICANE-IPV6 (HURRICANE, AS6939)" because Ziply does not support IPv6 (It's been "We're workiong on it, it's coming soon" for 4 years now.) so I have to use IPv6 over IPv4. To block an entire range for everyone including real, long-standing accounts that have NEVER had an issue, problem, or infraction of any sort is totally fucked up. Sure, block anonymous edits from the range and maybe specific accounts, but not real accounts that are in good standing.

Decline reason:

HE's IPv6 tunnels function identically to anonymizing proxies, and have been blocked per WP:NOP. We used to see them abused frequently. They are, and will remain blocked in order to protect the encyclopedia.

If you have a real need to edit over ipv6, you should follow the instructions at WP:IPECPROXY, and explain your need to edit via these tunnels in your request.

For what it's worth, I understand. My ISP does not offer IPv6 either, and I really wish they would. Same thing, they've been saying for the better part of a decade that it's "coming soon". For various reasons, I can't use a tunnel. On the upside, I have yet to find a website that I cannot access over IPv4 outside of certain testing sites. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Just FYI it is not possible to delete an account, as all edits must be attributable to someone. In addition, once you click "publish changes", the edit belongs to Wikipedia, not you. You agree to this every time you click "publish changes". 331dot (talk) 10:47, 24 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
