Art & Australia[edit]

Hi there! Thanks for your work on Art & Australia and for taking the trouble to ask about it on the GOCE talk page. Yes, you did improve the article, and would have been justified in removing the tag, which I have done for you. I've also done a bit more work on the article, and you can see the changes I made here. The only thing I would definitely criticise is your use of the phrase "is comprised of", which is very controversial -- here is the wiktionary entry. It has a flavour of managementspeak. "Comprises" and "consists of" are uncontroversial alternatives; also "is composed of" (but why use a passive construction here?).

Another thing is the choice of which terms to wikilink. The general consensus these days is only to include links that might help readers understand the article, not linking everyday words like "magazine" or the names of countries. Finally, I've done things to soften the blatantly promotional tone of this article, like referring to the magazine as "it" a few times when possible rather than naming it explicitly five times per paragraph, tagging some statements that will become out of date with time (if not already), and so on. If you see anything I've done that you don't like, please feel free to alter it and/or to discuss it here. I'll watch your talk page for a couple of days in case you want to raise anything, or if later, you're welcome to visit mine. Best regards, --Stfg (talk) 13:11, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback. Some of the things your referring to were like that when I started working on it, but I appreciate your input on it, as I am sure it will help in future situations. Thanks again. L1ght5h0w (talk) 02:10, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

pi article[edit]

Thanks for offering to help with the pi Featured Article nomination. Feel free to edit the article yourself, directly; or you can just post suggestions at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Pi/archive1 (or on the pi article Talk page) and I will do the work. --Noleander (talk) 13:15, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Will do, however I've heard it is standard for the nominee to make the edits, so if I were to do anything, it wouldn't be anything major. L1ght5h0w (talk) 13:44, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Yes, customarily the nominators take care of all the suggestions. However, some reviewers will directly edit the article to make minor, non-controversial edits (grammar, spelling, etc) ... editing too much makes the reviewer a nominator, and they then cannot vote for Support. --Noleander (talk) 13:56, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

FAC[edit]

Hi Lightshow, thanks for offering to help at FAC. I'm afraid I'm not familiar enough with video game articles like Cave Story to know what feedback to give. For instance: "... the player finds Sue in the the Egg Corridor, but makes no mention of the player going to look for Sue, or why the player looks for her." I have no idea how much plot detail reviewers are looking for at FAC; I generally stick to articles about historical events.

Your comments at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Legal Services Corp. v. Velazquez/archive1 were generally good. Please don't use templates, including collapse-boxes, at FAC. All the individual FACs appear strung together at WP:FAC, and templates make that page load slowly.

Thanks for helping out! - Dank (push to talk) 03:25, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

No problem! I like to help. As for the template thing, I won't use them on the pages any more. I think I found a better way to write out my comments from now on anyway. L1ght5h0w (talk) 21:32, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
