List of Bands from Oregon[edit]

Well, it has disappeared again. I wish I understood how this happened. If it is some sort of administrative decision, there must be a record of it somewhere, but I would think they would have tagged the article "Do not recreate" or whatever it is. As it stands there are about 20 articles that link there (including your page, which is why I decided to write to you), including Oregon, so it will continue to be recreated (and deleted, I assume). I guess we could just eliminate all the (now) redlinks, but it seems like a useful list to me. I don't know how this stuff works, so I am willing to defer to a higher authority. One of us might want to check in at the town pump and see if someone can answer our questions. Katr67 16:43, 5 July 2006 (UTC) P.S. Found this: Wikipedia:Lists (stand-alone lists). • Wow, I just looked and you're right, the list was deleted. What bothers me is that usually when things are deleted, they're first nominated for deletion, so people can give input and come to some sort of mutual agreement about the entry. To be honest, though, I think it might be better to have a List of bands from Portland, Oregon than a List of bands from Oregon. Something to think about if we start up a list again. Thanks for the link to the Wikipedia:Lists (stand-alone lists)...looks useful for future lists. I've been working on the List of Portlanders and needed some justification for paring it down a bit, because it's starting to look like a spammy, self-promotional entry. -little otik 19:07, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
