Re: 01download.net[edit]

Thanks for the note, but 01download.net should not be linked on wikipedia because the term "01download.net" only receives 4 unique google hits at the moment; therefore it doesn't have much web presence and hasn't been written about by reliable sources. It's therefore not a good idea to link to it.

If it's your own personal website, that is all the more reason not to link to it and violates the external links guidelines about adding your own links. Since you have been adding these links continuously over the past few weeks with no explanation, I and other wikipedians have considered this to be spam and have reverted them. In case you're wondering how I have found these articles to revert, I have been monitoring special:linksearch/www.01download.net every few days to check for links. You're still welcome to contribute, but please just add or correct content on wikipedia rather than adding external links to 01download.net. I'll place a welcome message on your talk page that gives links to the most important policies on the site. Regards, Graham87 08:42, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I know it has no ads. However, adding an external link in any wikipedia article will influence its PageRank in google greatly, making it seem much more important than it actually is. Therefore we only try to have external links to highly relevant and useful content (i.e. some text) which will enhance the article. I still do not think that 01download.net deserves to have its PageRank in google increased, therefore I will revert any addition of it. Also, sign your name with four tildes like this "~~~~". Thanks, Graham87 09:07, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean? If you mean linking to other download websites, it's possible but not encouraged. I think the only reason you would want to have a link to something like download.com is in an article about download.com or in an article about a software program where the only way to get it is through a download service.
