Preity Zinta FA

Hi there. The Preity Zinta article has recently achieved A-class status. Due to the wealth of support I have decided to now nominate for an FA class article which I believe and judging by the comments of others is pretty much up to. In my view it is better than some existing FA actor articles. I would therefore be very grateful if you could give it a final review in your own time and leave your comments and views at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Preity Zinta. Thankyou, your comments are always valuable. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:57, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Karnataka

Please consider putting a soft lock on the article. It seems to be experiencing a high volume of anon vandalism.Dineshkannambadi 15:06, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sir, I request the anon lock remain in place. There is no content dispute from older, experienced users and hence the article has been stable. As such it is well cited with no scope for questions. Opening the lock would simply encourage anons to play their games. thanks.Dineshkannambadi 21:58, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks you.

I believe you are unbiased and I appreciate any efforts you have made in my behalf. I wish you were able (probably not possible) to show me how to survive on Wikipedia. Believe me, I have tried to my best ability, but apparently I just don't get it. I truly do not understand how to prevent being a target for seeminly trivial issues, one AFD: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Drapetomania that produced an RFC against me. Sincerely, Mattisse 19:20, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Comment about a blocking.

My name is Chris and I'm a student at Joel E Ferris in Spokane, Washington and I would just like to inform you that the current block on my school from editing pages should just stay permanently indefinitely due to all the kids at my school vandalizing the site. 2009 isn't a long enough ban for us >_< I'm just trying to save you trouble down the road is all. Thanks.

  • (Response from PrestonH, Nishkid64's friend) Based on the fact that you've only been here for a week and have less than 500 edits (this is not Editcountitis because you are too below the "bar line"), so you are not ready for adminship as of yet. Look at WP:RFA for how the nomination processes work and WP:GRFA for tips on how to be one. All you need is experienced and you might become one on months/years time. Hope that helps Ie909. Republican 1880 convention

Excellent work writing this article and singlehandedly bringing it up to FA standard. I was curious, though, about your interest in this topic. For example, I noticed that neither the preceding or following RNCs even have a stub yet. So . . . why 1880?  :) · jersyko talk 00:39, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, nice job getting Lee Smith to FA status! I think that's my first major contribution to an FA (I've had a GA and a few others that probably could be GAs but no FAs). LOTD proposal

You have nominated a recent successful WP:FL. There have been two recent proposals to begin a List of the Day feature on the main page, which have both received majorities but have not been approved as overwhelming support sufficient for the main page. WP:LOTDP is a new proposal to try to get the ball rolling based on the original proposal. Vittorio

Hi...!

Please can you tell me why you have removed my images off this page. Have I registered them under the wrong licence? Can you tell me which licence I should use. I am sure the options have changed since I first updated Vittorios page.

The images are copyright owned by Vittorio and I have his permission to use them so please can you advise the correct way for me to register them. Thanks

I have to say that it is very frustrating when a person takes the time to register and update a page just to have someone come along and remove things without having the courtesy to explain why.

I hope you can help...

many thanks in advance

removal of block of user 67.143.191.6

The user Belinrahs requested the unblocking of user 67.143.191.6 and was granted so by you. But Belinrahs reverted twice the vandalism that the above IP-user did. I reverted Belinrahs's newest 'vandalism-revert' (so the site was normal again, but I think that you should ban Belinrahs since he possibly is the same user and ws spamming and used his logged-in username to unblock his anonymous IP (but this is all speculation) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dracosilver (talkcontribs) 22:16, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism by Banned user

Sir, A banned user:PONDHEEPANKAR has been targetting a featured article and leaving abusive messages on its talk page also. Please softlock these articles. He was banned from wiki for abusive language and sock puppetry. He wants to prove that he is a descendent of the Ganga Dynasty of 10th century:) (they come in all types). When do you plan to unprotect Islamophobia? Yahel Guhan is the only editor who disagrees to add Image:Gathering_of_eagles.jpg to this article, because he thinks the man in the picture might be blind. --Raphael1 19:46, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Raphel1 you requested the page be unprotected so you could restart the revert war. That is not good faith on your part. And I am not the only editor who disagrees with its inclusion. Yahel Guhan 20:20, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You started the revert war again. You might not be the only editor who disagrees with its inclusion, but you don't get a lot of support either. There are far more editors who agree to its inclusion. --Raphael1 20:30, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You added the disputed image. Just look at the article history. The image was removed the following times (not by me): [1][2][3], and if you look on the talk page, it was removed 4 times. Yahel Guhan 20:40, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Only one of those diffs shows an image removal. #1 and #3 just move the image further down on the article.--Raphael1 20:48, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Check the talk page if you think consensus exists for the image; besides the more accepted vesion puts the image much lower in the article. There certianly is not conesnsus for it in the lead. Yahel Guhan 20:50, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Lancerlogo.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:Lancerlogo.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:18, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am contacting individuals in the order of the number of featured lists that they had created by Novemeber 10, 2007. You have created several. So you are among the first. There have been a series of proposals to initiate a Featured List of the Day on the main page. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages. You may submit multiple lists for consideration.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 17:10, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re: Puppetmaster Mark753xxxxx

Thanks for you follow-up on the abusive Mark753x... He also edits (vandalises) under the 142.162.X range. He frequently targets the List of heavy metal bands article and its talk page. Myself and several other editors are "on" to his typical trolling and uncivil behaviour and he is usually unsuccessful in his attempts. I was wondering... now that you are familiar with this particular "sub-bridge-dweller"... if we can spot him active again in his regular haunts... can we come directly to you about him (if we see that you are online, that is) I can report him to ANI of course... but I sometimes find ANI to be rather slow, frustrating.. etc. I don't sidestep protocol too often but with some users I just find going directly to an admin gets the quickest results. I go directly to Daniel when I spot User:SEGA... I go to Cholmes75 when I uncover User:Alterego269... Admin Jpgordon gets a direct alert about Shutup999 / User:Zephead999 / User:Zabrak / User:Dragong4 / User:Duff man2007 / User:Pie76 / User:Zubt555... my good friend Wiki alf helps me to put a stop to an IP vandal we've nicknamed "the falsifier" (likely a cloned friend of the Toy-town vandal)...etc...etc..etc. With your new found understanding of Mark753... it would be an excellent help if we/I could direct pipe to you and save any ANI delays. Again, thanks for your earlier intervention. Also...I am running through a temporary proxy. If you wish you can respond to me at my permanent/static IP page at User:156.34.142.110.
