{{unblock|I must apologise for this. I was asked to get links and put them in the topics related to that site. I have now read the rules and can assure you that i wont do it again. I did not see any of the messages sent previously for some reason. Is it possible to put the link back in the Neapolitan Mastiff page as i do honestly believe that it is very useful to people and had been there i believe for some time Before i came on the scene. Again my apologies Phil}}

The link was also added by User:Undergroundmastino. If you are the same user, could you please also read our conflict of interest guideline. If you believe the link is good on Neapolitan Mastiff, discuss it on the talkpage (Talk:Neapolitan Mastiff) first, and wait for other users to provide their input, and that they generally approve.
External links do not always improve the wikipedia, we are writing an encyclopedia here, not a linkfarm. When your block ends (or is lifted) consider adding content to the articles, and maybe use the link as a reference (still obeying the conflict of interest guideline and our neutral point of view policy; I am sure there may also be other sites that you know of which even would provide a better reference in some cases). Thanks. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:24, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I honestly do not know of any that are better. There are very few sites related to the Neapolitan Mastiff that are written in English. The USNMC club site now has only a small forum and they are actually going to be removing it completely. Another is but this is a site run by a Brazilian guy and its not open to public view and membership is by invitation only. The reason i say that the site is good is that it has members(167) from many countries specifically Italy the breeds country of origin and contains many photos and videos of Italian Neapolitans as well as others. In fact 2 members from USA, 1 from New Zealand, Myself and another member from Sweden were there only last month and took photos of the Largest neapolitan mastiff show in the world and then continued on to visit Italian breeders kennels to see and photograph their dogs. Here is a link to the photo gallery just to let you see some of the photos. This gallery was only fixed about 3 weeks ago as it was broken.

Could you tell me where the site can be discussed as i will try that so as to not get my balls chewed by the site owner LOL. And do you know when the ban ends and can i still discuss it now or must i wait until then

Thanks Again

Phil

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Since you seem perfectly willing to address the issue, I've gone ahead and removed the block, so you should be free to edit now.

Request handled by: --Ed (Edgar181) 13:59, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You can discuss the specific link at Talk:Neapolitan Mastiff. --Ed (Edgar181) 13:59, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I am unable to edit as i have tried to post to the discussion 2 times and it tells me that my IP address is blocked. Sorry for the hassle.

It looks like there was also an autoblock, which I have now removed. Please try to edit again, and if you are still blocked for some reason, you should see a set of instructions (something like this: Template:Autoblock) that you will need to follow. Hope this helps. --Ed (Edgar181) 14:20, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have re-blocked you. You were above strongly advised to discuss on Talk:Neapolitan Mastiff, still you included your link on top of the list, without even mentioning it first on the talkpage. I am sorry, you are now blocked for 31 hours. --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:43, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there - you had the {{helpme}} tag on your page, but didn't appear to be asking for help. I've removed the tag, but if you do need help feel free to replace it along with your question. Giles Bennett (Talk, Contribs) 10:51, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I Rewrote an article about the Neapolitan Mastiff on the 24th of November and added some photos and placed it on the discussion page. So far it has received 4 replies all good and no bad replies and i was wondering if i should leave it on the discussion page longer or could i change it now.--Phil2511 (talk) 10:55, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also i wanted to change the very first photo inside the Salmon coloured box but was unable to do this when i tried before. Any advice would be much appreciated.--Phil2511 (talk) 11:09, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict)

I see that the article has been re-written. My only concern is that the users who have commented on it are all (bar one) IP (rather than registered) users, and all of them, including the registered user, have made contributions only to comment on the article, which does make me wonder whether they are truly independent users.
I can see that you have been blocked in the past for adding inappropriate links. Although there are no guarantees, I think if you were to steer well clear of committing the same mistakes again, I think the article should be acceptable. I would suggest, therefore, that you remove the link to just to be on the safe side.
I'll have a look at your question about the photo and post a reply shortly. Giles Bennett (Talk, Contribs) 11:11, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
To change the photo, have a look for the bit of the page that says {{Infobox Dogbreed | image = Cannon - Male Neapolitan Mastiff 1998.jpeg and change the name fo the image (ie. after "image ="). Giles Bennett (Talk, Contribs) 11:13, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks I thought i had tried that but i will look again in case i messed it up. I always appreciate looking at photos as well as the writing it makes for a more enjoyable article especially if the photos are good.

It was a very considerate way of editing to show your edits on the talk page first, but now it's time to remember the rules of Wikipedia and to be bold. Everyone had the chance to tell you, not to change the article. They didn't, so they have to live with the results. To add/change an image to an infobox, you have to watch the different syntax. Within an infobox, instead of [[image:any picture.jpg]], you use image=any picture.jpg. Happy editing. --Thw1309 (talk) 11:28, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks [[image:any picture.jpg]], you use image=any picture.jpg Thats why i messed up the first time i was doing the first way not the second. Now i will go and add the other photo as i used the initial one already.

Your question[edit]

I took a short look at the link. On their main page, they say that it's a page dedicated to give breeders an opportunity to promote their dogs. I wouldn't add such a link. For you, please look at Wikipedia:External links and decide by yourself. You are as much an editor of Wikipedia, as I am and you know so much better than me about these dogs. So you should be able to decide about the quality of this link much better than me.
You should remove the article from the talkpage. There is no need to have the article twice. Perhaps you could tell in the edit summary, that you moved the content to the article itself.--Thw1309 (talk) 15:48, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You see, the others liked it too. You are a good editor and should act like one. If you find a way to improve Wikipedia, please do it. You do not have to ask someone. If someone should object one of your edits, tell him, that he is an idiot and should keep his mouth shut. No please don't do this, because then they would relegate me for having created a vandal. Just tell him, why he is wrong and why your edit is such an improvement to wikipedia. --Thw1309 (talk) 13:26, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

--Hu12 (talk) 09:17, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Hu12 I rewrote the article for the neapolitan mastiff and placed it on the discussion page after comments and approval by other wikipedians it was replaced over the article on the main page along with photos of my own that i took in italy. I also posted for all to comment about the link to the site that i posted and after almost a month it received positive comments. It was to the photo gallery containing over 1000 photos. I have joined to the site and have inserted a few hundred photos having been to italy 3 times in recent months in fact just returned last monday from a Neapolitan mastiff all breed show. I believe the site to have been useful for many people to easily see so many photos old and new some are 40 or more years old and that was the types of comments it also received from the comments in the discussion page. I also wrote the mastinaro article. Therefore i do not understand your negative attitude when i have followed the wikipedia procedures and posted twice to the discussion page to gather other members feedback AND discussed this with another wikipedia admin.
