Reviewer permission[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:01, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Review for Stephen_Colbert[edit]

Hi Pietrow, the revision you accepted for Stephen Colbert was vandalism although it was not obvious, refer to WP:VAN for more info on how to deal with and spot vandalism, I've warned the user of that IP already.

Thanks, Fridae'§Doom | Talk to me 08:21, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I'm sorry. I should have left it to someone more familiar with the subject I guess. — Pietrow 08:25, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Science Fiction Edit[edit]

Hi there. You asked why I removed Stephanie Meyer as an example of a Fantasy author who has won a Hugo--I removed her because she has never in fact won a Hugo. I'm not familiar with how Wikipedia works, but was under the impression that simple edits of this nature were not only allowed but encouraged. For future reference where should I have explained the reason for the edit?68.144.103.171 (talk) 11:37, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't understand the reasoning, therefore I reverted your edit. It's not required to give a reason for edits, but sometimes it's useful so people can understand and if required verify it. That's especially the case when removing content as an anonymous user, because such edits can be mistaken for vandalism. Often I forget to give an edit summary myself, so don't worry about it. Your contributions are more than welcome. — Pietrow 13:08, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
